What are you favorite remixed (not just remastered) albums.

Mine:
- Rush, Vapor Trails
- Megadeth, first few albums
- Schenker, Built to Destroy
- Triumph, Greatest Hits Remixed

Fragments of shattered St. Anger/Lulu/72 Seasons CDs placed in an industrial grade blender.

Hate those Megadeth revisionist remixes sorry. I thought they were products of their time and best left alone. I like the remaster and increased clarity side, but not the remix. I do like the KIMB remaster though, def a big improvement.
I can't think of any remixes tbh I prefer.

The analog masters had deteriorated and some individual tracks had been lost forever. In order to be reissued, there was no choice but to rerecord those tracks and remix.

Never should have touched RIP when that was the issue. The albums after that didn't need remastering anyway. Countdown was a great mix and album in the first place. Deleting Risk and Super Collider would have been a good move.

My boy did the remix on the KIMB record, I thought it was super sick. It was pretty insane listening to mustaine talk about that record. He literally remembers every little tiny piece of it, even though he was blasted out of his mind at that time. He knew every single little minor detail that the other players did and during what parts etc, just not at all what you expected Dave to sound like about that time. Dave actually was incredibly open to the remix and what it should sound like. He basically just said make it bigger and better, but still sound like them. And that’s what came out.

Those Megadeth remixes are terrible. They completely killed the vibe of Peace Sells...

I can't think of a single remixed album I prefer over the original.

Dio Holy Diver remix from last years box set is really good

It’s like the ZZ Top remixes they did for that six pack release on the early albums. They may sound bigger, with bigger drums, but there’s something about the feel, the groove that is lost. They can add more rings to the death star explosion, but it still wasn’t better…lol
The only single remix I can say was a win was Roger Glover doing Black Night for a special release of In Rock (or Machine Head?) as a bonus track. Basically made it sound like it was on the anlbum and not coming through a broken speaker like the original single does.
