Hey All, I moved to a new apt and had to put some stuff in a locked storage room in a locked cage. Well some ass hats broke in and into all the units and I lost a couple Friedman modded amps, Fryette and some rack efx and all my CD collection. I know, it can all be replaced. What I’m left with is my CAE 3+ SE, Fulltone Tri-Stereo Chorus and my Bogner 1x12 which for some reason I left in my bedroom closet as well as my guitars. Not sure where I want to go next. I live in apartment so a big amp for the 3+ won’t do me much good. I have some Event 20/20 monitors and was thinking of using those and going the Kemper route. Note: I don’t play in a band etc. Thoughts?

Thanks in Advance

Sorry. So you've already determined there is no way you are getting insurance money out of this? There would had to have been a truck or van right to get all this stuff from all these units? Security camera?

Do you have the serial numbers for all your stolen stuff? File a police report and then keep checking pawn shops and guitar shops. If they broke into every locker, that tells me they are just looking for anything of value for a quick sell, and not because they knew they were nice amps.

Damn, that sucks man. Sorry to hear about your gear.

Definitely file a police report and then go by each guitar-related store in your area and explain what is going on, what was stolen, etc - if one of these bastards tries to get some quick cash by selling a modded Friedman that they probably have no idea about, it'll definitely set some red flags off with staff and hopefully it'll be a step towards them getting busted and you your gear back.

The only thing I’ll add to all the other great suggestions is to post this info in addition to model/serial number/pics across the big guitar/gear forums.

You’d be surprised how much time we all spend looking at gear and with stuff as unique as yours it’s bound to pop up in front of someone.

I hope you’re able to either find your stuff and/or get some money back. Good luck!

Great ideas, note to self. Start writing down or taking pics of serial #’s. ?

same thing happend to me in 2007 or so. basement storage unit in an apartment, someone used a crowbar on the door, and got a mesa Racktifier (sn-1150), a furman pq-3, and a few other smaller things. I got insurance, minus the deductible, but was out around 700 bucks at the end of the day. mojo sent.

I know this is a little late but the guy I work with at my second job got ripped off a few months ago twice by the same guys. They even came back and stole his security cameras. He got tons of pics/vid of them doing it. Police still haven't found them (probably not looking that hard as it's a small town limited resources, and huge drug problem).

Anyway he started putting air tags in things so that got me thinking about putting them in my cases and Amp head shells. If I had to redo my rig in an apartment. I would just get some decent monitors and use plug ins like the Neural Amp Modeler

You know I was thinking about local Craig’slist as well as these items might show up.. you might wanna keep an eye out on it as well. If you are in a small town chances are they might drive a town over to sell to pawn shops but if a big town since they are looking for quick meth cash, most likely will be close. I’d be fucking pissed. Sorry for your loss. Someone knew the place they were robbing. Possible live around you

I hate hearing things like this, especially as I have had to deal with things being stolen here at my home. Fuckin crackheads. I had to take some "extreme" steps to remedy the situation and am lucky I did not get arrested for it. Truly sorry bro.

Do you have pics and serial numbers of the stolen gear or anything else, that would identify it in case it resurfaces anywhere???
If yes, I would report it to the police. It`s not about hoping the police would do anything to find it, but you would have proof that the gear was yours in case it later appears again.

I would be devastated if I had all of my stuff stolen. Sorry to hear that man and hope you get it back.

I always think I can lose everything unfortunately.

Thieves are the worst. Theft is just getting worse and worse. I live in SF Bay Area and a lot of stores are closing down because of how bad the theft problem has become. Check it out. Full blown insanity. I know many people scared to go to Union square now.

That city has just turned into something else. Everyday you think it can’t get worse and then a new video emerges. Dear god.

it is so disgusting to witness what san francisco has become. went there on my honeymoon in 1989 and it was still a jewel.
the last time I took my family on a Thanksgiving vacation there was in 2007 and it had already started getting sketchy with homeless. Now with the third world homeless nightmare conditions, unstoppable crime, and poop patrol "crap apps" to report human feces on the sidewalks ala Chapelle, it is unrecognizeable. they should reopen alcatrazz and make it a sanctuary city.

Fuck I’d probably start vomiting if I was emptied out. A life’s worth of finding, restoring, and building some of the best gear on the planet. Much of my stuff is limited one offs that even with an insurance payout, I’m still likely not getting another.

I’m in the process of moving and I’m so paranoid that I’m not using a storage facility for my gear. I’m hauling it all out of state to family.
