Bogner Uber Clips (UU, TJ and Rev Blue shootout)

Be forewarned, the TJ sounds like ass to my ears on the recording but in the room it shook the house and sounded good to me. However, I think it needs a new preamp tube since it squeals at a higher volume when my other amps did not. But it gives you an idea of the differences between the three when dialed in to matched TMBP settings.

SC: Fernandes Ravelle Elite baritone loaded w/ Fishman moderns (voice 1) -> Mogami gold 1/4"cable -> SansAmp Para DI -> UA Apollo Silver TB3 -> Mogami gold XLR cable ->Radial Reamp Box -> Mogami gold 1/4" cable -> Amp. No boosts. Just straight in with gain set at 1:30 on all 3 amps.

Bogner Ubercab mic'd up. SM57 on V30 edge of dust cap panned left. MD421 on T75 lower right quadrant middle of the cone panned right.

All guitar tracks are raw. No post processing with EQ, comp, etc.

I'm out of extra preamp tubes so I ordered some more up and want to do another round of clips to see if the TJ improves some.







 
Love the jam!...Ultra for my taste..although the REV Blue has a sound that maybe fits more doomy than deathy groove like this song genre....seems like the TJ is waaay too boomy..
 
Nice clips, Ultra sounds best, then rev blue, although i wished the rev blue was boosted, the ultra seems tighter and dont need a boost but a boost woulda helped tighten up the rev blue and maybe i woulda picked the rev blue as my favorite at that point. You already know im not a fan of the TJ.

Yeah I’ll do boosted clips next round in drop D or C. So far, with all the boosts I’ve tried with it, I gotta say I really dig the built in boost on the Ultra. Rev blue boosted is vicious though and hard to beat.

Was the TJ dialed in correctly? It’s definitely tighter and more articulate than the Rev Blue IME. That being said, the Ultra sounds amazing here.
