What are the obvious signs that this is fake

I'd call Gibson and check if the serial # is legit and what does that serial # reveal about the guitars specs to see if it matches up.

Show Gibson an image of it .

In his defense if he is selling it for a family member (wife's uncle or something) then it is possible he doesn't realize and it is the uncle that got screwed over years ago. Him deleting posts is not a good sign. At least you'd expect a "oh wow, I didn't know...I'll look into it" ?

Gigbag? Please.. what a dickhead piece of shit for even trying..

That's also hilarious. The fake COA is bad enough, ....but let's here the explanation how a CS/Historic HSC goes missing and is replaced with a fiddy-cent bag.

Everything is wrong. Nut size, nibs?, control cavity covers, bridge, rosewood fingerboard, truss cover, fingerboard inlay size, chunky looking frets, knobs, engraved serial # is on a thousand others, neck carve(volute area), neck heel, tuner housings are probably plastic, probably number of binding layers and how the binding meets the neck, probably wrong top carve, pickguard, gibson logo, binding is too white, headstock shape, pickup rings, pickups, strap buttons. The truss nut is close (though cavity is wrong) and so is the size of the headstock inlay.

Probably the worst part about this is the fake certificate of authenticity. You can report these listings directly to Gibson, if y'all want. There was a local pawnshop near me selling fakes one after the other, to the point where I knew it had to be the owner/employee buying and selling due to the quantity they had, and were trying to pass off as real. Real POS.

I love all the armchair quarterback detailed analysis from the Facebook pics . LOL ! It's probably fake but with Gibson's quality control over all the years I wouldn't discount any of what looks wrong with it .

I love the armchair quarterback speculation from a statement that it's "probably" fake, yet you sound like you don't know. If you don't know, that's fine. But the obvious evidence that's been pointed out many times isn't something new and clearly shows the guitar was not made by Gibson.

Wonder if he's the same fool selling/trading a Bogner Uber amp with no pictures.
And no response to my contacting him
No. The Columbus CL adds of all the amps without pictures is a member here and a stand up guy. He's a good friend of mine. @Randy R
