Thanks for taking the time to explain.......here in Yorkshire I'm more likely to see a unicorn crossed with a whippet than a Cameron!
The non-tech guys like me won’t know what they do, but I’ve just had countless mods and the Cameron’s would stay and send others packing after getting AB’ed. I’ve since then liked a couple other modded Marshall’s even more than the dozen or so Cameron mods I’ve tried, so I don’t actually think about Cameron’s anymore, but I did find them to be better sounding than the vast majority of modded Marshall’s I’ve playedForgive my ignorance, but what did he do that others can't (or choose not to)?
There are incredible (to my ears) sounding amps from folks like Headfirst and Monomyth (to name but two)...... why are Cameron's amps so sought after?
I'd say first of all, and this is NO slight to Shea or Jason, I've had a Mono and it is also killer. The Camerons have a feel that's hard to replicate; and there's a term that people used to describe the upper mids/highs as a 'grind'. It's something that you have to experience for yourself. Cameron wouldn't take a 'cookie cutter' approach to mods...he'd do part of the mod, play the amp and make adjustments. This would continue until he got it right. Guys that have tried to copy it, can get close, and they sound killer too but there's always something missing vs a Cam. When I've heard Langner stuff, they also have a unique upper mid/high end content that is super cool and addicting.
And, like I usually say, none of these descriptions in any way justify the fact that he still owes amps/money to many.
Actually the amp that mod came from was done for rig talks own Tim Krueger....was done when c@meron was still at bogner, even had some bogner parts and some orange wire from Jose. Best sounding amp I ever owned / heard / played still to this day. I remember when fortin heard it at his Amp fest in deerpark ny yeaaaaars back. Like 2009 .... last I knew Steve K had it , not sure where it went from there....My Aldrich was done by Nick yes however it’s not his circuit. From Nick It’s a blueprint 1 for 1 copy of a Cameron aldrich that was originally created by Cameron for an artist which Nick had in his possession for a bit. Nick requested after I got the amp that it not be cloned or given out so I’m respecting that request.
What’s different is that it hasn’t been tweaked or tuned to his preferences such as the Bogner resonance or any features like his current mods.
The only thing Nick designed in this amp that Cameron didn’t is a very transparent passive effects loop.

That amp you have i modded for Jeremy. It has the same mod I do to all of them.
I didn't design any of that circuit and never said I did. That loop is just a passive insert I did not design that either lol

Hollywood passed away ? is this true? Can anyone confirm ? Oh man I hope not.I thought I heard it went to an artist after steve K hence my statement.
Yeah it’s sad Steve and also Hollywood have both since passed. RIP. I’m very thankful to own one of Hollywood’s old amps.
I know you didn’t design any of the circuit which is why I have no need to search for another aldrich just to have worse build quality and questionable history. You’re taking a design and reliably building limited runs of them. You built it but it’s a legit Cameron design. Best of both worlds.
Regarding this specific amp, in 1996 Marshall still had leftover iron from an anniversary run of replica 68/69 transformers they were stuffing into regular 1959 amps until the stock was gone. This happened through the early 2000’s. The iron in this amp sounds and responds similarly to my 74 dagnalls.
Correct! Crazy shitIs he the same Krueger who killed hookers in the wood and got prison for life ? LOL

The last Armored Saint album is great. Great writing on rhythm, leads, tone. Always pumped when it comes on in my workout shuffle.Kick ass! A buddy in town has a Morin modded Marshall. I’m going to see if he’ll come over and we’ll do a demo vid of it. Jeff Duncan from Armored Saint.
I do prefer the MOAB myself, I’d guess you would as well just knowing your style. Cams have a great feel, but the tone has never been quite right for my taste. Worth trying though- they always hold value. The last Armored Saint album is great. Great writing on rhythm, leads, tone. Always pumped when it comes on in my workout shuffle.
Haven't played a real Cameron, but have played some amps with Cameron-ish mods. Have heard lots of Cameron clips. I'd say the clarity and punch of the MOAB mod is probably more my thing. Would love to play some real Camerons to know for sure.
I hope not. I know he was sick, but I thought he beat it.Hollywood passed away ? is this true? Can anyone confirm ? Oh man I hope not.
When I first read this I thought it was a typo, so I didn’t respond, I didn’t know Hollywood passed. I’m actually saddened to learn this.@psychodave would know for sure as they were really good friends. It’s actually a sad story for those that do know. I won’t be parting with this amp. Other members have begged Nick to make more copies of it.

The forum member I sell gear for that passed is Jeremy Solomon, forum name of Jer.

Yeah it’s really good. I see Jeff all the time. He works out of the custom shop that build my sig model guitar. He’s a super nice guy and can bust balls like a champ! Lol.The last Armored Saint album is great. Great writing on rhythm, leads, tone. Always pumped when it comes on in my workout shuffle.

Think it was me sorry. Dave cleared that up, thank you.Let’s assume it’s false and I was wrong - I cannot find the post I learned about it and I don’t want it to be true if it’s in fact false but that’s why I confused them. I’ll go back and edit my posts as to not add more confusion.
Yes it’s correct Jer passed. I confused Hollywood with Jer by accident which is separate mistake on my end.
