I’ll be interested to see what you think of the Driftwood then. In general, I’m looking at it from the perspective of high gain amps…5150, Dual Rectifier, etc.
Unfortunately I've asked to send it back, tested with several amps and with all of them its just way too dark and the resonant bass peak doesn't seem right to me either. Was hoping for it to be even closer to my cabs than existing options but its the furthest away from them, and with the least other features too. Really wanted to love it but it was just the opposite to what I was looking for really - if you are having to work the poweramp tone controls harder, I feel like it makes the tone weird at a certain point. Amps like a Rectifier simply won't sound correct with a load like this.

Can be cool sounding for certain tasks I guess, but I really want a load box to replicate the response of a cab first and foremost. Suhr and React IR seem to do that best, in my experience (with my gear etc).

Appreciate the feedback. We need more loadboxes in 2024

I’ve heard these Marshalls put out more than 100w at peak, not sure if it’d be an issue.

I plan to try it on lower amp volumes first, gradually increasing it. running the amp at high volume for an extended period is probably not a good idea.

hopefully if anything gets toasted it's only the attenuator. Still looking but other options seem to have features I don't need.

Really like my captor. It’s got a line out to run into your computer as well. Can’t comment on its accuracy vs another as it’s the only one I’ve tried.

Impedance curve of the speaker in a cab shifts and depends mostly on the volume of the cab. So "V30 curve" can mean anything.

Ever tried to get an old Marshall Power Brake?

no, though I did see a few available.

the HB PA-100 seems ok, though I won't be able to max out the volume; they have a 250W version, PA-250

While i think it works, i wouldn't necessarily use a Harley Benton Product. Call me a snob.

I'll cheap out when I can for some things like this, but it has good reviews; just don't think it's going to handle the power of a 1959HW.
