There is an awesome add-on for the Virtual Jeff... a volume pedal/boost in a whammy! If you don't want to watch the entire interview, and just see the new product, jump to 35:30
And this is far superior (I had a few of the DigiTech models). Better tracking, you can set two ranges (e.g., modest vs. dive bomb), you can blend two different notes, you can lock in a slight detune for a chorus effect, etc. With the new vOL addition, you now have a device that also can clean boost a signal (raise the arm and lock in the volume), use it as a volume pedal, etc.

You set it. You have 2 octaves down and 1 octave up. You can set it for a semi-tone up and a semi-tone down if you want. And then you have access to two different variations... subtle, moderate, intense, etc. Don't have to worry about tuning issues!
And is there a way around having to tape it to the face of an expensive guitar with a lacquer finish? Just have to deal with it or use a cheaper guitar?

I have it on a 2k guitar. It uses RUBBER adhesive. It does zero damage to ANY finish. And you can remove it with zero damage. There are plenty of videos on their site, and they demo this.
