My E1 SLS Elite has a similar thing happening with the lower horn. But I don't feel any seams or anything.Oh yeah, the neck-through looks beautiful. The set-neck on my reaper-6 is pretty much the same, but if I hunt around I can feel a little bit of evidence of the seam, around where the fretboard joins to the neck. The reaper elite appears to be neck-through, so I'd imagine it's just that little bit smoother like the SLS. My comment however was addressing the back of the lower horn, which I realize now I never specified.

How my hand sits in it is on the left, on the right I lift my hand so you can see that it was actually in the carve-out:
It's not super deep into it, but it's enough to make a difference, and to cause guitars without that to feel constraining to me when I'm up in that area code.

Everyone needs an E-1 in their life. I've wanted an explorer body since 1983. Just got this one last year and it's a keeper. So comfortable to play sitting down (which is how I mostly play - classical style with a footrest and all)..

Used Caparisons hold their value extremely well and can be found pretty regularly in the price range you’re looking for.
Playability and tone wise they’re pretty hard to beat as far as the super strat market goes.
