Who remembers thier first rig? ☺️

I still wish I kept my OG Peavey Rage 108 and El Degas electric. Cut my teeth on those puppies.

Sold them for a Marshall and BC Rich Warlock. Ah youth.

Wish I had just saved up for a Gibson and an early Mark series amp. I would have been set for life!

Who else willing to share? ??

My first guitar rig was a Peavey Predator that I traded a Squire Jazz bass for, and a Crate 1x12 bass amp.

It was 15 years ago for me. Fender MIM Strat that I still have and a Fender practice amp before a Peavey Valveking.

1965 Fender Jaguar and a Gibson-Maestro reverb echo deluxe into a Fender 2x12 piggyback cabinet.

I still got the amp. I returned it to it's proper state as a combo. Have recorded and gigged it a few times. It's killer sounding but it needs work.

Very nice. I no longer sell/get rid of gear. I’d give anything to have my own early gear again. Sigh. Youth is wasted on youth. Glad to see you still have your amp rig. Kudos.

I had some strat copy and a Gorilla amp. I flipped the strat copy and some cash for an Ibanez RG550 (which I still have).

My first guitar rig was a Kay "Charvel Star" copy and a little Gorilla combo amp, got the whole setup for like $150 from Henry's Music in Barberton, OH. Man the memories with that rig!

Christmas of 1983, I got my first guitar and amp - an Ibanez Roadstar II and a Fender Deluxe Reverb. My mom worked not a block from Rockin' Robin guitar shop and I'd spend a lot of time there after school 'til she got off work - Christmas time was always magical to me there as they'd have tons of the latest guitars hanging from the ceiling as you walked in and I remember that Christmas all of the Roadstar IIs in every color hanging from the celing.

Mine was an Encore strat copy in three tone sunburst with a little 10w solid state Park combo. Good times! Many hours spent with that rig trying to work through ‘Heavy Metal Lead / Rhythm Guitar’ by Troy Stetina.

Some sort of red Dixon stratish thing with no whammy bar and a gorilla 10" combo. I spent more time playing my dad's 64 duo sonic ii and Peavey bandit...

Lab Series L5 solid state and an Electra Omega . Actually it sounded great. Years later I found out TY Tabor used to use an Lab Series amps but would never tell anyone his secret setup. I always wondered why he sounded just like I did !! LOL!!

I had one of those 70's Univox Mosrite things and a SS combo amp that I kept adding more and more speakers to until it died. I stole all the speakers from my Dad's old mono Hifi console and any other speaker I could find and just added it in parallel and threw it in a corner of the room (no cabinet). Im like 12 years old at the time, trying to play early ZZ Top and Nugent.

Lots of guys my age (60) remember those Univox guitars, a number of beginners started on those at the time.

I messed around on my friend's guitars and I decided to get serious which meant I needed my own gear. I worked hard, saved my money and when I was 15 I bought a new Electra Omega X220 Cherry Sunburst LP copy and a new Peavey Pacer amp. I wish I still had those.

I could feel your mom's love for you in this post. Bought you the Deluxe model straight out the gate. What a great story man!
