I've recently come across info that clearly shows fauci, the CDC and FDA were not in charge at all. It was a military response from the get go, and Trump enabled it. I don't believe that it could/would have happened — the vaccines and lockdowns — without Trump invoking the emergency under the Stafford act for all states and territories.

I'm still altruistic enough to believe that maybe Trump thought what he was doing was the right thing. It's a pretty tough decision to guide a country through a pandemic with no "right answers" really without the luxury of hindsight.

But I do agree that he made it a point to push everything through as fast as possible, and intentional or not, many of the problems and issues people have with how the pandemic was handled stem from his actions at the very beginning of it.

No, he was likely convinced it wasn't just a 'pandemic' but a bioweapon (Which it probably was). Once you understand that it was a military biowarfare response everything makes a lot more sense without resorting to other conspiracy theories.

Regardless, I don't forgive it, even though I recognize he likely thought he was doing the right thing. If he didn't know what he did would lead to in terms of the violation of civil liberties and so on, then he shouldn't have signed. And once he knew he didn't do shit either.

But yeah, most people usually think they're doing the "right" thing, even when they're doing something that later on we recognize as obviously horrible. But these days people think that so long as they're not sieg heiling, goose stepping Nazi's then they're "okay" and let their guard down.

I am a bad person aside from those judgments so those kind of remarks from others aren't a factor in my decision making processes.
