I think others have pointed out that your opinions mean very little. You can’t think for yourself. All you can do is repeat narrative and say “fringe” and “conspiracy”. Either way it’s felt good to me.
Most people don't think for themselves so I'd say you are expecting too much when you assume most people are able to. (I don't assume you think most people are able to though, lol).
He’s actually decent at redirection, distraction, personalization, conflation and so on. In other words the “dark arts” in debate. But not so good that 99% of people here that don’t share his MO can’t see through it.
People generally shut down when they are confronted with their own illogical choices. Rather than say "what I did was illogical" they would rather be in denial than admit poor decision making skills.
It could very well be simple ego defense. At this point in my life I’ve messed up enough that it’s not so tough to say I was wrong.
