No I wouldn't. I don't get on VB and Arch because while they have strong beliefs they acknowledge others may differ and understand faith is involved. You on the other hand are smugly convinced your beliefs are incontrovertibly true and resort to evasion, redirection and then personal insult whenever your beliefs are challenged. And I'm not saying religion is necessarily bad either. It is what it is, but be honest about it. And fine, your space/science worship is not exactly a religion anyways, but it does share some characteristics.

That’s why you are incorrect. You equate the general term “faith” with only worship. That is incorrect.

You aren’t challenging MY beliefs. You aren’t challenging a belief system of any kind. You are just shitting on things I find interesting

Yeah, you have faith in the official narrative like some have faith in the bible. You're an acolyte of officialdom, with a few minor deviations cause you're also an edgy guitarist.

You gotta make up your mind man. You tell me I blindly follow the narrative, but when you ask me why you tell me my reasons are too anecdotal because they are based on personal experience. Everything you say is an absolute contradiction. It’s fucking stupid.

I know what faith can mean. You are trying to compare it to religion, I am telling you it is not always the case, especially for my world view

I don't believe that you think the vaccine works or is safe because you didn't get covid or didn't get hurt. I think you use that to justify your pre-existing belief in what polite society told you to believe.

Is there anything at all that you believe or do that polite society would frown upon? I know you smoke cigs, but I think they'd give you a pass 'cause your otherwise such an outstanding student.

Being polite isn’t a narrative. It’s just giving a shit about other people.
Most people find it to be a good quality aside from dopey outcasts that are mad at the world. It’s always everyone else’s fault that they aren’t likable

I don’t believe for a second that the pyramids were built with ramps. I think being fined for not having health insurance is bullshit. It’s not like my yard is full of BLM posters and rainbow flags. I have just spent a lot of time and effort learning about science, I use it in my everyday life pretty regularly and have no reason to distrust it on principle like yourself

Polite society is a euphemism for the esteemed of our world, it has nothing to do with actually being polite or civilized either for that matter. Polite society is often barbaric and uncivilized, but always maintains a veneer of self-righteousness and respectability. As for your heterodox deviations, a lot of people hold those views. Do you actually believe anything that is outside of the so-called 3x5 card of allowable opinion? And btw I don't distrust "it" on principle, but according to evidence and reason.

You gotta be more specific man. Big words are only impressive when they convey a message. Just because I think the moon landing was real doesn’t mean I can’t “think outside the box” lol.

I was explaining what polite society meant and then reiterated the question. I think you get the gist of what I'm asking, and I think the answer is that you probably don't believe anything that wouldn't really get anyone to raise their eyebrows, let alone consider you to be an independent thinker.

That’s because you have an extremely bastardized version of “free thinking”.
The people making all the scientific discoveries that you choose to belittle, those were the free thinkers. Visionaries who fight for their ideas are free thinkers.
You are just another knob with YouTube that thinks “free thinking” is not believing anything at face value.
You have no answers yourself. You offer absolutely nothing besides shit you heard some else say. You are not a free thinker

I consider free thinking to include openness to ideas and willingness to engage personally with evidence, using your own brain and analytical skills to assess it, or to assess the analysis of others. I don't think free thinking is the same as innovative thinking, but sure there is probably some overlap. Yeah, I do believe strongly in questioning everything, but that doesn't require not believing anything — although I do think the majority of what people think they know is probably not true. I don't know whether I am an innovative thinker or not, but I don't share everything I think or come up with on RT ya know. I will admit that I don't have many answers, unlike some of you all.

Yes like I said, a bastardized version of it.

I'm not asking for your dumbshit assessment, I'm asking how my general description differs in kind from the article.
The article sounds more like the definition I gave. It even explicitly lists scientists lol

The free thinkers of today go against the 'scientific' orthodoxy and politically correct establishment, just like the free thinkers of yesteryear went against the church and monarchy.
