No it isn't it's due to your arable land in the centre of the continent allowing for a large population and therefore economies of scale. Otherwise aside from that we have done just as well here.
Also it's a large population of what was mostly white people... turn it into a multicultural melting pot and I'm not sure it will continue for too much longer.

Maybe these days with Indians as the PM of the UK and Muslims as the lord mayor of London and also would you believe the head minister of Scotland (although he just went I believe)... We are made out of dust. Whatever acreage of that dust you own, it's never enough. My first house was on a 1/4 acre. Definitely not enough space to run my blaster but I still did donuts in the back yard and upset the neighbors. I built this cabin I'm in now on about five acres. It's too rocky for a blaster. But I'm looking to upgrade about 40-60-80 or more acres with good creek access one of these days that way I can be clean as country water, pure as mountain dew. I just want to live cheap with woodstoves and cast iron and a garden and stuff and hangout with my ol' lady all the time.

I had a Banshee. Miss that damn thing. I'm a 3 wheeler guy though. I've had 3 ATC 250R's
The last one I put thousands into and it was like off the showroom floor condition. Unfortunately in the communist state of MA, anything fun is illegal, so I gave up twisting the throttle. I still have dreams about riding.
