You catch on quick. And in terms of theological new heavens/new earth/new incorruptible bodies are pretty much the promise of Christ.
God almighty is unknowable but it always amuses me when humans try to bring a court level case against him for human suffering and other ills. As you said, God doesn't really have to provide an explanation. It'd be like me questioning "hey why do you cut grass on tuesdays instead of wednesday? Because it's your house, your rules, and you conduct yourself and your affairs how you see fit and no one outside your house is owed any explanation. It's your world there, and everything in it, is yours and you do exactly as you please. It's like a reflection of the heavenly realm.
If you read Exodus 33:20 you will notice it says "no one can see the face of God and live" yet just a few verses earlier in Exodus 33:11 we are told that Moses spoke to the Lord face to face as one man speaks to another". An apparent contradiction. But it's not because it was Christ who gave Moses the law on Sinai. It is by Christ only you can know God almighty.
The reasons for man's existence is to serve and glorify God. To tend his garden. "The earth and all that is in it are the Lords". So he owns it all, even your time and talents belong to him.
A couple things have had me thinking about it lately. One, is that in the near future there will be announcements that we found life on other planets. I think the only reason we haven’t is that it’s a pretty big damn announcement and it’s damn near impossible to go out and bring back samples of it. But I have no doubt it will happen in our lifetime. Not “other beings” but bacteria and such that are active. So discussions about it will soon be commonplace.
Secondly I’ve been deep diving on “dark matter” which even to a person that loves science, is a bit out there. I mean scientists believe it could makeup like 95% of the universe, but they haven’t the faintest idea of what it is. Generations of some of the smartest people on the planet haven’t been able to crack it… maybe it’s just over our heads.
Anyways, it’s bed time. Cheers man
