Is there a big difference between the two opamps? Are they interchangeable? I was reading the spec sheets, but I really can't tell.

I'm seeing that. Was more curious if they are a compatible swap? Meaning you get the exact same result interchanging them?

what pedal are you swapping them in and out of ?
they should function the same ....... just be weary of the Voltage limits

Same pins, not exact specs. They are part of a 'family' and can be interchanged. Its up to the user to determine closest spec and application. What will operate within parameter without causing damage. Most of these chips were never designed for guitar gear, so keep that in mind. Here is your 4558 family :
