Is this a Korn album cover?

Yeah, but it's for Kandy Korn.

I think the US sucks re: tax... they double tax their citizens if they are dual citizens living in another country. I have a friend whose kids were born in the US while he worked there and now live back with their family here. They are US citizens but I believe they also have an Australian passport. If they earn anything here the US would want a bite out of it even though they'd be taxed here. The US is one of the few countries in the world with the gall to do that despite most countries having double tax treaties with each other stopping this practice.
The US is the only country that does that.

haha, did this thread take a detour or what!?!

Got into my accountants office yesterday and (hopefully) got it resolved. A quick dash to my bank for documents &back to the tax office. I owed due to a screwup from one of my IRA accounts, didn't send me proper documents for that tax year and I owed for that, but about 1/4 of what the IRS wanted.
Railroad Fund? It's included on lots of W2s but doesn't pertain to everyone, just another way to make the forms more confusing..bastids.
I just hope it's over now.

How did you determine the problem you found was related to the notice?

My investment counselor who works with my bank had to look up my withdrawals from that year. I had 2, 1 each from 2 different companies, one of them sent me tax documents for W2 but the other one didn't and I failed to claim it. IRS wanted tax payment from both W/Ds but I had already paid for one.
Mailed checks today for the adjusted amounts, state and federal. Tax guy said "you may get more of these notices in spite of paying it, that's just IRS incompetence, just ignore them"...hard to do.

I'm not the expert but ignoring notices doesn't seem like a good idea. I was wondering how you know you found the problem they wrote you about given the numbers aren't an exact match. Hope it's all taken care of!

Pfft. Just make sure the bank accounts are empty and all your shit is in your cousin’s name and you’ll be fine.
