If there is proof of government agencies and institutions using anything other than qualifications and competence for hiring, they are suspect in my book. When you close your pool of acceptable applicants to "only" a minority of the country, it's statistically impossible you will be finding the best people. It seems it would be pretty easy to look at backgrounds of hires, and see what qualifications/experience they had when they were hired. It shouldn't matter what color/race/gender they are. DEI policies seem racist to me, I don't know how people can see it differently. If all the best people are black/white/brown/purple/green, that's what we want, no one cares. We want the best people running our most sensitive and difficult jobs.How do they even identify who was a DEI hire? Is it just anyone that is not a straight white male?
