Some guitars in my top 5 or 6 would be ash, but I find it very hit and miss. The vast majority of the time I’ve only liked the sound of ash on Tele’s. Honduran mahogany or alder I find much more consistent in sounding good and how I’d expect

There will be a poll later regarding the finish which would also be multipart (ie; stain, gloss, metallic, natural, etc... followed by color, stain/flame/quilt/koa/walnut/1890s wallpaper, etc..).
 
Dumb question because I have never owned either…soloist is neck thru right? What is a san dimas? Bolt on? Jc…

I should clarify this is more dinky than soloist as this first build will be bolt on and should have been marked as dinky, it just wouldn't let me edit (soloist/dinky are generally the same 7/8 size body one being bolt on the other neckthrough). You are correct.
 
I voted basswood. It was a legit common superstrat tone wood back in the day. My number one beater is basswood with a high output pickup.

I won’t vote from here forward - not really a fan of any of the combinations above. I’ll let others have at it.

I hope the voters surprise me in at least one area of this build. I’ve got a feeling this is going to be a typical super strat in every choice.

I would guess most people want typical for the most part, don't fix what isn't broken and all that jazz.
Though mahogany doesn't seem fairly common for a super strat, but they aren't my forte, so I could be mistaken. ?‍♀️
Thinking we may end up with three builds, though. Would guess they're all going to be pretty normal for the most part.
Might be cool to focus on a uncommon finish or something of that nature, though.
Guess we'll see.

I am down for v or explorer. San dimas is literally a strat..the most vanilla body style out there. That is very tan pants
