Adele one of three Angels with a 2 run Homer today including Trout and Ward...... the Angels are flying high ^_^

Ohtani has a long way to go. And a lot of miles on that arm.
Yeah definitely but hopefully he comes back..... when he's out there I mean in my lifetime personally haven't seen a pitcher like that in real life do things like that....... and hopefully he can come back and catch more lighting in a bottle even if just a little bit.

Yeah I didn't go to the stadium a lot to be honest during college and I know there are other guys with great stuff but it's hard to explain. When I see Shohei and I know Ryan is on another completely different level..... you kind of see glimpses of Nolan..... especially relative to both careers as Angels.

There are a lot of things like say both were K/9 leaders and walk leaders..... and yeah Sho not only matched but broke Nolans record for consecutive starts with 2 or less earned runs....... between 2022/2023 compared to Nolans 1972/1973, both being Angels during that time. Relative to times and eras they are like the same player but in different time lines or dimensions one can say...... then and now.

An amazing feat of it's own but even more amazing in the StatCast era. I went to those games up until the end and I would always cheer for Sho too as hard as anyone, dude would go 10+ Ks or 13 Ks one time against the Royals throwing at 100+ sometimes bringing sinkers, sliders, cutters, splitters, fastballs etc etc etc..... the harder you'd cheer the nastier, harder and faster he'd throw.

Shohei beat Nolans record not out of a determination to win but for the fans and the team, when he was on the mound he wouldn't let anything stop his team from winning and he wasnt going to let fans down. Especially when the losing streak came that got Joe Maddon fired, he really took that to heart and IMO made it his mission not to lose games when he was on the mound for the Team and fans and it all started with that and ending the losing streak which he did against the Red Sox and Devers just unleashing everything.....

Once I saw Sho straight break a bat with his pitch, induce a swing and I swear it was a strike because the guy swung but it was called a foul ball... ImO it was a strike but you know clean swing and he broke the bat and went straight through it. Not sure but I thought that was goddamn nuts. But yeah this is where it started regarding breaking Nolans record and I was there till the end both seasons watching it happen. When you see a guy do stuff like that in real life, nvm the batting..... I mean there are other great pitchers but for me Sho is my fave.

I remember I was pretty buzzed and even yelled "Nolan Ryan, Ohtani-San!!!"....... and that's the day the record began..... this was the game. I went to everyone of Shos start after that and saw the record through....... I mean I went to all his starts but yeah

It’s not about the character so much as the performance and the embodiment of what Nolan Ryan brought….. I mean for example Sho chased Nolans record for most consecutive games with 10+ Ks he also ended up beating his record for most consecutive games with 2 or less earned runs and Ohtani chased both at the same time too during and over the same season and the span of two seasons from Ohtanis 22/23 season compared to Nolans 72/73 season.......

Another example of how they are essentially the same player but of their time and era relative to one another Nolan Ryan was the leader of his 1972 season in his respective league in K/9 and Ohtani was too in 2022 and both finished as K/9 leaders for those seasons in their respective league…… Ryan was also notorious for leading the league in batters walked while also leading the league in Ks and at points of being the K/9 leader Ohtani was notorious for walking batters as well in 2023 while being K/9 leader…… it’s like they are the same guy but just in different times and eras or dimensions and timelines one can say.

Then.........

The Kids' Real MLB 2025 Power Rankings ....... Final top 12......... Will update as the season approaches or move the list around but in general once it gets going that doesn't happen unless something big changes......

The Kids Real MLB 2025 Top 12 Power Rankings Update March 14th 2025.....

Based off Total Team WAR, Starting Pitching rotations projections and the WAR-Ratio as a baseline along with other factors and considerations for teams with most likelihood and highest likelihood of making postseason for 2025.......

My Rankings are more accurate and to a lower margin of error when it came to my Regular Season and Post Season Power Rankings in the 2023 season vs the "experts"......they actually reflected performance by teams better than MLB/ESPN/Verlander/The-Ringer.... as good as the "experts" in 2024 and I don't have a full department of people and "professionals" or "experts" like Ken Rosenthal running around a floor of 500 people and a nationwide network of hundreds if not thousands of reporters and journalist..........

It's just me, my WAR-Ratio method and other factors and considerations, basic stats available to everyone and a little bit of calculus along with my Ti-84+ calculator.......thats it......you heard it here first.......

ImO even though he never won a Cy Young....... this is probably one of the best players who ever lived...... before my time but my Dad gave me an appreciation and taught me an appreciation for good pitching and especially excellent pitching....... I wish I could have seen Nolan play from the stands but short of that........ you can always imagine...... here's to Nolan and his legacy in the game and all he has done.......

There will never be another player or individual like Nolan Ryan, not before, not after and not in a million or a billion or trillions of years from now.

Never mind Skubal wasn’t even on the “experts” radar at MLB on Fox/ESPN/MLB…… I even picked more Cy Young candidates than the “experts” or MLB powered by Google AI….. using nothing but stats/analytics available to 8 billion + people……

Ahead of every “expert” on the planet or even AI ^_^

——————————————————————————————-

Yours truly….. some schmuck from Anaheim CA that never went to an Ivy League or some fancy private school BEAT every “experts” preseason projections for Top 10 pitchers and also beating MLB powered by Google AI….. with nothing else but statistics/analytics available to everyone on planet Earth along with a little bit of Calc and a Texas Instruments TI-84+ calculator, pencil, pen and paper…….

——————————————————————-

4 of my top 10 are actually in the running for Cy Young vs MLB “experts” 3 out of 10 at this point in the season….. not perfect by a long shot but yeah again better than the “experts” in the industry….. and I made these projections months before the season even started……and yeah 1 out of my 10 picks is actually winning Cy Young vs 0 out of 10 for the “experts”…….

I BEAT every “expert” at their own game in regards to projections and I’m even beating and offering better results than MLB powered by Google AI…….

When it comes to what I have to offer and my results vs “MLB experts” or MLB powered by Google AI my methodology and insight using the WAR-Ratio has revolutionized how to see the game, how to better build teams, how to better make projections and how to actually explain what’s going on in the field in a better way than anything any “expert” has used in the past 100+ years or the combined 10,000 year knowledge of a panel of so called “experts”……. I did it last season and did it again this season…..

It’s not luck and it’s not coincidence…..

Cy Young Rankings by MLB “experts”…..

With Shoheis 54 HR and 59 SB he was just 3 HR and .9 WAR shy of my projections for him but still won MVP……. And again projected this ahead of any “expert” at MLB, MLB powered by Google AI or the donkeys at the Baseball Writers Association of America ^_^

———————————————————————-

This is the second season and second season in a row now where I projected MVP ahead of the “experts” at MLB or the donkeys at the Baseball Writers Association of America and even ahead of MLB powered by Google AI….

-2 seasons back to back ^_^

It’s not a coincidence and it’s not luck…..

The Kids Real MLB Flashbacks ….. May 7th, 2024….. at the time Betts was the “experts” favorite……projected ahead of every “expert” in the industry at the time…..

Currently leading the MLB and NL in HR, AVG, OPS and SLG Ohtani is defying all expectations and projections yet again...... Setting the tone for another MVP but this one looks to be even more amazing than the last even though he's not pitching.......

He is nearly 100 points higher in AVG than projected, 50 points higher OBP than projected, 100+ points higher for projected SLG AND 150+ points above projected OPS.......and hes on pace with 11HR and 2.4 WAR so far to do some really disgusting things this season with projected and on pace for 57-58+ HR and 10-11+ WAR and thats not even factoring June and July conditions......

He may even break Gioncarlo Stantons NL record for most HR in a season during the Statcast Era.....

The only other real comparison to Ohtani relative to the times/eras and taking the type of player he is being a two way and coming off from pitching and just focusing on hitting in a historical context really is Babe Ruth at this moment......maybe there needs to be a separate league for this guy and a higher MVP award like MLB MVP, Diamond MVP or Platinum MVP or something like that but until such award exist NL MVP will do nicely given Ohtanis pace ^_^

The Kids Real MLB/Baseball Thread Flashbacks…... Part Deux......

Gaze into the Crystal Ball....

SEE THE FUTURE.............

Early in the season Cole went 6 consecutive starts with an ERA of 1.11 during that same time span for the month of April and this would set the tone for his 2023 AL Cy Young campaign......Cole went on to lead the AL in combined ERA and IP as well going 209 innings with a 2.63 ERA.

While Coles ERA is higher than the NL Cy Young (Blake Snell) Cole doesn't just offer quality he offers 200+ innings to go with it too.

Amongst the only 5 pitchers (Chris Bassit, Miles Mikolas, Zac Gallen, Logan Webb, Gerrit Cole) in the AL/NL and the whole MLB that pitched 200+ innings Cole lead these select group of pitchers in the following categories for the 2023 season:

K/9: 9.56
ERA: 2.63
xERA: 3.48
FIP: 3.16
LOB%: 80.4%
BAA: .261
SO: 222
fWAR: 5.2

Just when it's getting good..... Baseball Gods say no........

Yeah....... not so pretty....... despite all the offense this pitching is pure trash...... and it doesn't look like pitching that will make postseason or take any team to postseason.....

HR Leaders amongst players..... thats some good company......

Springer isn't letting the fans down and with Bichette and Vladimir being the guys they are along with Kirk....... the Blue Jays core is stronger than ever.......
