Yeah, it sounds really good. This is just the crunch channel boosted with @griff10672 's wonderful Hunky Dore

There's no bass on the recording, so the first person who says it sounds thin is legally retarded and needs to be institutionalized

Nice! How does the Thunderstruck sound in your opinion compared to the Poundcake models?

This is only a Kemper profile, but i've played profiles of it on various channels and gain ranges, and played poundcakes of every revision

It's got the steavens dna and grind, but is a little bit more refined and less compressed at the same time

It seems like a variation on the poundcake rather than an entirely new amp, but given steavens track record that isn't really a bad thing

I'll never know until I get a real one under microphones, but the profiles of it definitely have me intrigued - if what you don't like about the poundcake is the hairyness or compression, it seems to be tamed a bit

I love the hairiness and aggressive grit of the Poundcake. I don’t find my Mk2 to be particularly compressed, but I can believe the thunderstruck is more open. My Mk2 I’d say is raw and Marshall-y, but thicker with that German type of sound

The only other Steavens I tried so far was a 25th Anniversary Poundcake and that was a lot more polished and smooth, better for leads imo and also a very good amp. In some ways like a better XTC to me

IMO the poundcake is everything people say the XTC is , except for real

I love the blue channel on the xtc, but thats it, the red is a mess IMO, and at that point i'd rather get a simpler amp that sounds like the blue channel

The poundcake delivers 100% on the multi channel with no compromises thing, in my opinion

Just for fun and comparison, I retracked that entire thing with a profile of my old larry, just so you can hear the differences and similarities

I didn't spend time changing my EQ and preamps to compensate for the larry so it isn't gospel or anything, its just for fun
