Proof the Earth is round

I believe you believe @VonBonfire :dunno:
I don't really have a hard fast opinion on anything other than It's a circle per the bible, but I don't really think it is a spinning ball revolving around the sun. I don't really buy into heliocentrism. At the end of the day it doesn't matter to me and it's weird that some people are exceedingly bothered by it.

I know this can be a controversial topic but I don't like people pissing all over each other - even if it is OTC
It's only controversial to those who expects everyone to see through the same eyes as they do. Certain to be some letdown there in this life.

I actually don't mind if people think the Earth is flat :dunno:

I also know that a big part of your thinking is based on the bible and scriptures. It's all good.

I am firmly of the belief that the Earth, like most other planetary objects are round or 'ball like' as you call it. There is a reason most of it is round. Black holes are round too. So space and interstellar objects are all very real to me. If I was religious, I would make the leap that a lot of what is in the Bible is metaphorical and that God created everything. That would include round objects in a very very large universe. A universe that had a beginning. A biggening that we can practically see, or at least theorize. Humans are smart.

I only put faith in truth, not theories, because those are subject to change. In the orthodox church the official stance is "we don't know". Our senses are limited and can be fooled by a simple card trick or optical phenomenon. Like many say about God, if I could see a miracle or experience him firsthand then I'd believe. I feel that way about "space" but even if it's real I don't wanna go there to find out myself. *shrugs.

Yeah. It's controversial because it calls into question the basic nature of the world we live in, the reality that modern day westerners take as unasailable, incontrovertible fact.

Because there is an obvious but usually suppressed tension between what we are taught and what our own senses tell us, it subconsciously adds to the consternation.

So it's difficult for most people to objectively consider the matter because challenging one's reality and trust in authority in such a fundamental way is mentally threatening.

This isn't an argument that flat earthers are correct, but it's worth noting for those who are conscientious and seeking truth.

Why does every single camera ever manufactured have a non-removable fish eye (type) lens :dunno:

That was a joke BTW. I just said it because that seems to be the common answer from flat earthers regarding space pics. Or even horizon pics.

But I did want to put some context to this. If you can't read the resource info, it is saying that a pilot in jet had approximately 4 minutes to take a decent pic, with what appears to be a fairly common DSLR type camera, and then the concord passed him up. Probably more like 30 seconds to get it in the frame as it is.

We've already went through this so you don't have to keep proving yourself wrong. I see why you're confused now. You keep buying into what the MSM is telling you to think instead of thinking for yourself.

Edit: I won't deny that Trump would like a military base or some sort of military presence in Greenland for strategic purposes due to its location. That's not the same as wanting to take it over or invade with military force.

Never say never! 🤣

You keep thinking that. I have better things to do that waste time with an imbecile; and I'm not that busy right now.
Are you talking to me or to the President? I'd love the chance to see you tell him what he's thinking.

Most people can't deal with having their worldview challenged. All you are getting is insults from him, which is a cue there is no sense to continue. In other news, glad to see you around bro.

Thanks bro. It's always a pleasure. While we agree on much, our differing views on religion is a testament to the idea that different worldviews don't necessarily lead to conflict, but rather one's lack of comfort with their own views.

I probably should let go with the Greenland/Canada "debate," but it's hard not to carry on being insulted in the face of incontrovertible evidence to the contrary. But who knows, maybe the mad scientist has invented a telepathy machine.
