Good grief

Please tell me I’ve never wasted any of my life talking about climate change with you
You think you are smart but you don't understand my question because physics alludes you.

How can a helicopter work if there is no air, please explain that to me?

There is air. Just not air that humans can breathe.
We need oxygen, remember?

We were discussing propulsion and exiting whatever kind of atmosphere it does have. So what kind of air does it have that we can't breathe but can be used for propulsion? I have never heard of this kind of air.

Breathable air don't exist beyond the Van Halen Belch.

It’s mostly carbon dioxide on mars.

The propulsion link you posted would be great for traveling through space once you are in space, and potentially great for getting from the moon to mars.
But it would not be significant enough to get a ship back out of mars atmosphere, much like it couldn’t get anything out of earths atmosphere

I agree and that I am sure is it's primary focus but I would assume it would take less effort to get off the surface of Mars than it would Earth.

Less sure, but enough to make it way harder than the moon. It’s why there are a shitload if samples on mars that no one can figure out how to get back to earth

Moon has no gravity and no atmosphere unlike Mars.

Mars was just like Earth billions of years ago and Earth will suffer the same fate due to the constant expanding of our solar system.

It would be smart of humans to learn how to colonize dead planets and travel to then quicker, but we are too concentrated on political warfare.

Maybe Trump should stop cutting funds to the people that can get us off the planet then. People are unwilling to understand that we are making our own planet less inhabitable for us every year yet somehow we are going to bring life back to a dead planet?

Mars doesn’t have much gravity either compared to earth, which means it probably won’t have much of an atmosphere no matter what we do. Not mention no magnetosphere. It’s a dead planet.
Best case would be living underground on Mars, but we are barely taking the first steps towards contemplating that as a viable option.
More realistically, the more we study mars the more we can learn about its death and the better chance we have from keeping our own planet from the same fate. The saddest part is that biggest hurdle with that, is people being willing to educate themselves about what is found.

Funny how you have to wedge your hate for Trump in there for no apparent reason.

And, evidently we can't live underground on Mars.

My neighbor binges on Fox news and other shit cable shows like ancient aliens and says "we have military bases on Mars already".

They really ruined something fun with that show. Like I’m all for contemplating long gone civilizations, but making things appear to be “proof” of them takes the fun out for me

The Zecharia Sitchin "ancient aliens" i.e Sumerian pantheon crap is basically 50 years old and they are repeating it like it's revelatory. Dr. Michael Heiser has a bunch of videos debunking it. He was a scholar on Sumeria, but it's not as sensational and removes the whole bs "alien" crap from it.

Since no one's done it yet, I'll be that guy...
Edit: Changed the meme, this one's funnier.

You are the reason I brought up Trump. You brought up politics in your post that I was replying to

But he didn't really :dunno:

He said, "too concentrated on political warfare".

Which is almost the opposite of, "You brought up politics".

I think we all would agree that it is nice to have a thread every now and then that is a.) not political, or b.) becomes political
