Is The Mesa Reissue Hype Over?

Are any of the MKIIC+ fans kind of pissed that Randall Smith said for over two decades they could not build another MKIIC+ due to not being able to replicate the parts, yet in 2025 they do exactly that and got the reissue pretty damn close...:dunno:

I think this is proof that the reissues were very successful. If they were awful or bad people would still be talking about them because of how awful or bad they were. But because they actually sounded really great, everybody is just happy and content and playing their amps.
Yeah because nobody starts threads on the amps they just got and love around here 😂

Think they'll do a reissue triple too?

Man I hope so, the Dual RI's are fantastic and a Triple RI would rule. Also there's a daughter board in the Dual RI with unused spaces for caps that read "Triple Only" under them. These are newly designed amps. Why else would those have been put there other than the Triple RI being planned for release at a later date?

edit: Here's a Dual Rec RI gutshot taken by our very own @NewWorldMan showing what I'm talking about:

Per the sale of plush carpeting being down from 2021 to 2022 by nearly 9 percent I'd say MESA sales numbers are also in decline since the two seem to be intimately tied together. Probably why they packed it in and sold to Gibson.

My Mesa's love sitting on plush carpet!View attachment 401383
Beautiful carpeting and amps!!!

I can tell you must really love your MESA's and probably have gigged a good bit cause it looks like you have two or more of each of those amps. I have always loved the look of the dark wood with the basket weave. Thanks for sharing!

I haven’t tried the IIC+ reissue, but will just say I’ve had the 90’s Recto Reissue for a little over 3 months now and it’s one of my favorite Mesa’s and easily to me the best amp they’ve made in over 30 years now and actually not processed sounding or feeling like the Mark 7 or really actually their other most recent pre-Gibson models

Hey now, Howard the Duck was pretty good -- much better than his move, The Phantom Menance.

I think the problem is, so many guitarists already own a Mark something. In my case, I have a IV. I hear my IV and it sounds good and I figure it's "close enough" to the C+ thing. My amp even has a C+ mode, just like those Mark V's do. People don't want to spend 3K on another amp that is very close to their current Mark series.

Ya, the IV does have a IIC+ mode. It's pulled presence, triode, harmonics... I think?? Probably closer than the V's IIC+ mode. With that said, I still want a IIC+

Well, then you need one. I've never played an actual C+, so I have nothing to compare my IV C+ mode to.

You are correct about the settings. I actually don't like C+ mode on my Mark IV as much as I like the IV mode. I don't pull the presence and I use mid-gain instead of harmonics.

I'm not sure how many "iconic" amp models worthy of reissue Mesa actual has after the Recto and IIC+...Thoughts?

Mark IV.... but I don't see them reissuing it. It's a rat's nest inside.

A lot of people loved the Tremo-o-verb.

The DC series w/GEQ will end up being reissued. Lotta metal heads loved them that couldn't afford a Mark IV, but they had their own unique thing going. Mikey Thompson was a big fan and still talks about it.

They'll end up reissuing the Mark III Coliseum at some point. A lot of lore around that one, especially in the Sykes camp.

I just got one. I have owned every revision mesa rectifier but a E. This one is really good. Really tight without a boost. Looks great. The new prices are just too much. I’ll probably list it soon just because I have 5 rectifiers but it’s a great amp. My favorite new mesa product in years. Just too much money new.
