What a great player. I was a fan right from when Rick played in Johnny Winter And. I still listen to that live album.
Saw him w/ the Edgar Winter Group in '74 at MSG.
Saw the Derringer band a few times as well, once w/ Niel Giraldo and once w/ Danny Johnson. Very sad day. RIP

Playing Rock n Roll Hoochie Coo was right of passage material when I was learning to play. One of the first songs I learned.

Got to see him open for…somebody. It’s all a blur anymore.

RIP.

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord,
and let Your perpetual light shine upon him.
May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed
rest in peace through the mercy of God.

Amen.

Bummer,... was he was a believer?

I'm a big fan of the '77 lineup with Danny Johnson, Derringer Live record was great! Got to see him do a reunion tour with the '77 lineup around 15 years ago...R.I.P.
