Anything comparable to this small gig rig?

I use an Orange Super Crush 100 Combo for gigs and am considering getting an Orange Baby 100 and using a 1x12 or two 1x12s. Would be about $600 for the Gain Baby and then another $400 probably.

I thought about getting something like a small modeller like an FM3 or POD Go, etc. into a Powerstage 170 or similar but don't know if that is a dumb idea.

I won't be going FOH at most gigs and ki d of need and like the cab behind me, not too much heavy stuff, simple, etc. I'm just wondering if there is anything at the same price point and convenience or I should just stick with my Duper Crush, etc.

Well, my main rig isn't as economical as yours, but my Fractal rig is super portable and plenty loud. I have a second output already programmed in all my presets that I can send to FOH

FM9T, EV-1 expression pedal, QSC CP8, a 7-string and 6-string electric and that's it... I can carry this in one trip...

Nice!! So do you have that QSC CP8 up on a stand behind you facing the crowd or on thr floor as a monitor for yourself?

That is a great setup!

Right on the floor as you see. It is my monitor and stage cab and is loud enough to project in this bar. I take a second CP8 if I need more coverage. They are 1000 watts and are very loud if needed...

I also have a couple of CP12'S but I find the CP8 more than sufficient and have plenty of thump...

I saw a video a while back where a guy was using a Tonex pedal and an SD Powerstage. I can't remember what he was using for other effects. Although, doesn't the Tonex have more effects now? Overall, it was pretty compact.

I need to try a Tonex pedal again. I tried one in a store but didnt have a lot of time and couldn't figure anything out on it.

Stock presets are not gonna sound great probably. You really need to search out a few captures that speak to you.

Think of it like a baby Kemper. You have to find the right capture and then use the EQ to fine tune it to what you want. I am finding them to have better feel and dynamics than pretty much any other digital unit I have played.

This is my experience with all modelers. The stock stuff is generally designed to appeal to people who are not as "in the know" as the average RT member, and the tones follow suit.

I feel the same. I bought the ToneX when it came out a few years ago.
Do you have to use it with a computer to get the most out of it? I currently don't have a computer but working on it.

For shows, I really only need one tone but would be cool to have others for recordings, etc.
