Steve, not at the moment. I’ve struggle with finding good wire Lin country and not happy with it. At the same time, ive taken kn an Executive position for a company supporting the the military here in Japan. I haven’t given up yet, but not taking order either. I’m hoping for things to settle down.
Hey Scott, Thanks for your reply.. I just saw the reply today, I do not come on RT too much. I will send you a quick pm.. different question.. Thanks!!!

I think the main issue here is if someone has a problem with the cost & just can’t afford what they’re looking at… It’s a matter of finances.. not the pickups being “expensive” The right set of pickups to some would be priceless… Just like guitars, pedals, & amps.. Let’s not forget really old people think all the shit we talk about is asinine to spend money on… lmao

my friend wanted to find something similar to my tom holmes pu.
after hearing a doug rappaport vid demoing a tone specific pickups which are a bit spendy, i had a high degree of confidence in those. the benefit of hearing a great player demo gear is they have enough experience to draw out the finer elements of the item they demonstrate.

i suggested a pair of them to my friend who threw them in a jem.
made it the best sounding jem i’ve ever heard and the best humbucker he has amidst a sea of duncan, dimarzio, fralin and gibson.

Which of their offerings did he buy?

Look Von I need you there for moral support to help justify my irresponsible purchases ok… Don’t go all traditionalist- Silent generation on me yet 😟
I'm cool with irresponsible gear purchases because they are all pretty much that unless you are getting paid to turn them wrenches but I am definitely a traditionalist who hates all digital crap like modelers and IR's. Menus are for when I go to waffle house so it better have real knobs and toggles on it or I'll file a report with my local blues police.

happy to report the recent Tone Specific Randy Rhoads 1974 humbucker neck and bridge set i scored off ebay went into the PRS today and are sounding very sweet!

clean tones are instantly more balanced and useably smoother and open. the stock pus were much hotter thus gritty and midrangey unless you rolled them way back and then it was kinda dead.

crunch and lead tones have plenty of fire and amazing chirp going on and i really hear the clarity in the single notes when playing leads up high. but you gotta be on your game.
the old pus being hotter made shred a bit easier to phone in and chug more grindy but the fizz kazoos and mosquitoes abounded.

Wow I didn’t know he has a Randy Rhoads set now. I may have to try it later on. The quality of tone in his pickups smoke all the other pickups guys talk about here
