Perhaps, but I still think the “woke” side of it is very heavily played up for the media. Trump backpedaling is a pretty good indicator that our country, our comforts that we enjoy so much, are very much reliant upon the immigrant contribution to the country.
Sure there needs to be a happy medium when it comes to controlling/documenting immigration, but the reason I often refer to it as “faux rage” is because plenty of people are willing to hop on the deportation bandwagon…until it makes their life slightly less comfortable, and then it’s pretty easy to see that immigrants being here isn’t as disruptive as the right wing playbook is preaching.

But that is in part why I often fight he opinion of “if the problem is that they are illegal, help them be legal”. As in, fix the bloated system to let the people that want to be here legally, be here legally. Help them be documented and work for the same salaries that everyone else does.
If that makes someone uncomfortable, then you are correct, it’s slave labor they want.

The fact is that anywhere from 10-30 million people flooded into this country in the last 5 years. Arguing that sending those people back, that have been here for 5 years or less, will cause Americans a lot of "Discomfort" is the fucking weakest argument I've ever heard.

And if you want to talk taxes. Undocumented workers pay a lot of taxes every year, plus helping them become “documented” would have them paying even more, hence less of the burden you seem to think they are.
