So yesterday I got to play the Bogner Uber Ultra...

and I can say I'm impressed! I tried the EL 34 model if anyone is wondering. The 2nd channel - ultra mode is to die for! Tons of gain - low end and tight chugs! I didn't care for the uber mode as it reminded me the exact reason why I didn't like my old Rev Blue. The amp is really versatile too! So many options and tones! Compared to my Wizard MTL which we had available for immediate A B comparisons, the Uber Ultra sounds more compressed, more "gainy" but at the same time more generic if that makes sense. Personally, to this day I have yet to play an amp as 3D sounding, organic and punchy as the Wizard.
Anyhow, if someone is after that "ultra metal - kinda scooped tone" I'd say go for it!

Man I wish you’d also done a comparison video against the MTL

You’ve got it dialed in right though - that sounded great! It still sounds filtered like everyone always says but it sounds like it would still cut great in a mix. That’s epic shitloads more gain on tap than my old 101B.

Actually I do have some clips of the MTL but not a direct A B - That might happen soon though!

How would you compare them? To me the Wizard MTL is more open / punchy / 3D sounding - really articulate with that dry - "clean' gain ala ACDC type while the Uber is ultra gain - more scooped and compressed
 
I got a Hell Razor with the intention of it moving my KT88 Ultra along…the Ultra is still with me as I just don’t find a substantial overlap between the two amps at all. I do have a love/hate relationship with the Ultra…it is an easy amp to make sound bad (clanky, filtered, and cardboardy) and if my ear are having an off day it can be a challenge. But, when it’s right it is really right.
Also have found pairing it with a darker cabinet actually seems to be helping it substantially in the clanky department, so would also offer that you can have a wildly different experience with this amp based on your speaker choice.

Never played the HR but I know some people find it more hollow sounding as it lacks the "sweep" knob which I find really useful in my MTL

I thought I'd miss the Sweep knob when I got my HR as well, but turns out the Bright 2 knob on the back seems to make up for it. The Bright 1 knob seems to actually work like a traditional Bright switch early in the chain but in knob form, while Bright 2 seems to be placed much later in the chain which makes it behave a lot like the MTL's Sweep knob.

Sounds killer in the clip. I've had mine for 2 years. Fits in well with the Wizards. Try channel one for a more raw tone. I find I play it in uber mode. The Density is a weird control. One day I play it far to the right, next to the left.
 
I have the UU KT88 and I have actually found you can make it pretty damn raw and open sounding on either channel by dialing down the density and compensating with gain and eq adjustments. While it is fairly easy to make it sound not so great (like the TJ I had as well) it really is capable of the super compressed OG uber tones as well as pretty raw and open tone and feel. It’s interesting how versatile it is in that regard, really cool amp. Sounds good in the clip bro!
