Katana into 4x12

Rock on from another Katana fan! I sold all my 4x12 when I moved in my new condo life but still have 2x12.

I don't think it's any real secret that these amps sound really good for what they are. Great playing and tone here.

I think I paid $279 for mine used a few years ago. It has saved my ass at a gig once and it it's always with me for a backup. Can't go wrong for the money.

@Bxlxaxkxe .. didn't you get this to run a wet/dry rig with your tube amps? How did that work out? I've ran mine in stereo with my tube amp return, letting the Katana be the main amp tone and it sounded nice but preferred it with another Katana in stereo.

I was originally thinking of getting a combo so that yes, I could have a simple wet/dry setup for live applications that was easy to setup. Guess I kind of abandoned that idea and just got the head. But yea I need to try it first that, just haven’t yet. I’m told you can use just the fx with the power amp so it should work but haven’t gotten there yet

That sounded really good. If you had not told anyone that was a Boss Katana they could easily think it was something boutique tube class.

It actually sounded like it has some depth to the tone dynamics and feel.

That sounds very good. Gave my Katana to a friend that was ampless a while back, but if I were gigging today, I would seriously consider using one. Low cost, easily replaceable and plenty good sound quality for a gig IMHO.

For the curious, I've done that quick comparison over 3 years ago. Same settings in both amps, same mic, same signal going to both at the same time, no post EQ or magic mastering. It's a bit raw but it gives an idea.

I have a pv vyper combo and it is a great little amp. I would rock a katana. Probably just need to hook it to a computer to get the goods from it. That’s how my vyper is. Plus everything sounds better through a 4x12.. and then you could plug into a kitchen aid mixer and get it sounding good….
