Ace Frehley….still rockin at 74!!!

My favorite guitar player of all time!! From my favorite band of all time KISS

He played at the Four Winds Casinos in New Buffalo, Michigan, last night!!! No opening act

He Still puts on a good show, although he is really starting to show his age. His band carried him through most of the show.

His band was great!!!

It was great to see him one more time This will be the last time i go see Ace live He has lost his edge, even since 2018, the last time i saw him in Detroit….his playing is really starting to slip. Ace needs to retire.

Never the less, my wife and I had a great time listening to all the old KISS tunes that ACE was kicking out!! Ace also played some of his solo stuff.

We were lucky enough to catch a couple of Aces picks. My wife caught one pick in her hair and one on her shoulder lol. I also caught Aces towel at the end of the show….and was able to get Aces set list from his guitar tech!!

It was a good night!!!!

It’s hard to see your hero’s get old

That's cool Brent. He still looks pretty good for his age.

I saw BB King in the late 90's a couple times. I thought "he seems like he's starting to get tired" cause he sat half the show. His playing was still good though and I am glad I saw him then vs in the late 00's when he actually had started to slip badly. Must be hard to put it down when it's grown to so many people, not just yourself, making a living cause you're still willing to pick up that guitar and get onstage.

Buddy Guy retired a few months ago. He is in his 80's and has had a great career but I noticed videos of the last year, it was time to say goodbye. I respect him for knowing it was time rather than sullying a great career just to hang on for a little while longer.

What a good deal though. Touring and playing well into your 70's and 80's. That's the dream. Glad you and your wife had a good time. Some great pics Brent, thanks for sharing.

As an Angus fanatic I feel your pain. But Tim Henson still has a lot of years left in him for anyone looking for a new hero.

Seriously though, I was never super into KISS, but the guy who first taught me guitar was an Ace fanatic and still 30 years later I am hearing an Ace influence on my playing because of my teacher. He is certainly in the DNA of rock guitar.

I saw him many years ago in a small club in the Westport area of St. Louis county. Frehley’s Comet days. It was small enough that he was in the bar mingling and I was able to sit and talk to him a bit. Got some autographs and a couple picks. He was very cool and funny.

I was lucky enough to meet Ace 3 times over the past 30 years. He was super cool every single time!!!

You always take great photos!

That is awesome man!! I took my kid to Ace Frehley two years ago and was rough. It was an outdoor show and got a heat wave and a bunch of humidity and was brutal. Ace struggled and was funny moments. He didnt know he was near the mic and said "who starts this one?" and his guitarist said "You!!", lol.

I have a KISS man loft with all of my guitar stuff, etc. I gotta see if i have any extra Ace stuff laying around for you to out in your Ace Cave. That is badass man. Here is part of my room:

That is so funny! The other night when they were playing love Gun, they broke into the rhythm section that was supposed to go behind his solo, and Ace was just playing the rhythm and he turned around and looked at the other guitar player and the other guitar player said it’s time for your solo!
