Warren Haynes Les Paul?

So I have a ton of flamethrower guitars, and I’ve been on a Les Paul hunt for a bit, I see this new Warren Haynes model LP, it’s got P90’s, but they are a new design P90 with a dummy coil that cancels out noise and there is also a 15db boost via a switch between the knobs. Yes it uses a battery and has a mini circuit board, but my understanding is that it is strictly for the boost function. Without the battery in, it will still operate as P90’s. So it’s not “active” in the sense that we are used to.
Just wondering if anyone has played these and were they as pissed off and snarly as the regular P90’s?
It’s a cool idea, but only if it translates into meeting expectations. The guitar is cool too, it’s a sig model Les Paul, but the sig was left off completely so it doesn’t have someone else’s name on it, which is cool

No my understanding is they will function as regular P90’s without the battery in at all.
The dummy coil should function that way as well.
I’ve seen him play them a few times but he’s not known for them being a part of his core sound which has always been humbuckers into Soldano’s

These have supposedly not been released long at all, can’t imagine they are already blowing them out. I think they were 2700 on sweetwater

I’m gonna make a trip over to Sweetwater in early September, I have an entire day set aside to play a ton of Les Pauls so I’ll find out how they stack up. Seemed like a cool idea if these are as pissed off sounding as the originals with no noise.
I love how P90’s roll off so well, and I love how they sound but I friggin hate noise

But there is no goldtop with those P90s. They come with regular P90’s.
I’ve seen mixed reviews on how the new ones compare to the old. Some said they were fantastic, some said good but not as snarly.
I’ll probably end up with another humbucker LP but I will check these out.

No worries bud, I totally get the Gibson money grab context, and I don’t like someone’s name on my guitar, but his name is not anywhere on it which I thought was strange and cool all at the same time.
Just thought it would be cool to have a LP that sounds different than stuff I already have but still cool with gain

Completely understand and get it!

Something about someone’s name on a guitar, I’m not into that either.

Totally would be into a P90 LP, not sure I’d want those fancy ones as Ive never had a complaint about their “regular” P90’s.

Yeah, my only complaint was noise with gain.
The P90 guitar I have now is pretty noisy as soon as you stop playing but I just roll the volume all the way back when I stop playing so it’s not a huge issue. You only hear it when your not playing. I guess I was thinking if these sounded the same but were quiet that would be a cool option.

yeah, i should have looked harder. i did look at this guitar on another site thinking it was cool, are the algorithms that good now that they saw that and recommend me a fake site on facebook?? sketchy
