That’s not really fair. Rather misleading actually. It’s not about whether or not I care about things that are completely out of my control. What it’s really about is whether or not I care about virtue signaling about it on some inconsequential guitar forum. Nevertheless, in the land of bad things that are happening around the world which are out of my control, self induced hardships which are currently being used 24/7 as a political billy club by leftists is pretty far down my list bro.

What did the post you quoted here have to do with Christians ? I thought that was kinda what is on the Statue of Liberty. Which I know I’m beating a dead horse at this point, but the Statue of Liberty is not meant to infer that anyone who wants to just walk on in to the US should be able to do so.

Honestly I don’t even know wtf we are taking about anymore. Dude posted about people being basically tortured in prison.
Seems like most of the replies have been shitting on the OP or making it political.

I’ve yet to see much attention at all towards the people being beat, aside from you saying it was their fault for sneaking into a country. I guess they were asking for it huh?

Well I haven't shit on anyone and I thought I articulated my position on it pretty clearly. I guarantee you understand what I said, not that I expect you to agree with it or even comment on it.

There is a difference between "at fault" and " self induced".

When it comes to what was described in that story, no I don’t think there is.

If this was a story about a dog in a cage getting beat to shit and shot with rubber bullets more people would be bothered by it than a human illegal immigrant in a jail cell.

You see the oxymoron in your statement right ?

Two other things.
A) Yes, I absolutely would have more sympathy for the dog getting beat then the person getting beat. But that's a me thing. Probably doesn't apply to most people here.

B) The dog being beaten isn't dependent on the dog knowingly doing something he knew he wasn't allowed to do and that was dangerous.

I am hard pressed to think of many scenarios where a restrained human should be “rightfully” beaten. I could think of a few but sneaking into another country is not one of them.

Nowhere did I say I thought they deserved to get beaten. Don't put words in my mouth. I pointed out that absent the actions THEY took, they wouldn't have been deported. Since they wouldn't have been here to be deported. Furthermore what their own countrymen are doing to them in prison is not the fault of the US government. It's like saying it was the US government's fault Jeffery Dahmer was murdered.
