No JBL selection?

JBL K120 followed by a good EV. I got some force 12's and they are pretty sweet.

I've gravitated towards Weber Gray Wolf, Silver Wolf, and Blue Dog. They really fit my taste and have a familiar tone to some Celestions I'm more used to while still sounding different.

That said Celestion and Weber are my two go to choices. Haven't had the pleasure of playing an EV but from clips I've heard I'm sure it would be right up there.

I can also say WGS is at the very bottom of my list. They sound good at low to medium volume, but once you start pushing them into band/100+ dB volume they start to fall apart. I haven't bought a new WGS since they first came out so maybe that's changed. All I know is there's better choices for the money than WGS.

The poll only let me choose 2 choices, and I couldn't come up with only two that I liked head and shoulders above the rest. So my vote in alphabetical order, not in order of preference goes to:
Celestion
Eminence
EV
Jensen
Weber

A lot of the Weber stuff looks dope. The ToneCult stuff looks interesting too.

Interesting no one picked Jensen. Might be the best build quality of any of them.

I have a Jensen
JP12-100BB Black Bird. I think it sounds as good or better than the EVM12L I have for cleans. Very smooth warm sound.

Best speaker I have for lower volume is a Eminence AR75. Sounds good for crunch, high gain or clean at TV moderate dB's. It sounds good at loud drummer dB's also.

I would love to have a couple Blackbirds to try out in my Twin. I should just recone my K120 and get a blackbird to go with it.....

Honestly......

I mean IMO..... these things are top quality, construction, build wise, sound wise.

Every Jensen I've played when it comes to the higher end ones are fantastic and a lot of amazing "in your head vibes" or "sound in your head" that becomes real with a Jensen. They have some British flavored speakers too and some really great sounding Alnico and high powered speakers in general with a lot of definition/clarity.

They are made in Italy too and top quality all around from an Italian product.

I have a weber michigan 15. It's a nice speaker and IME they have outstanding CS over there too.
About twenty years ago I called Weber asking for 8inch speaker that put out a lot of bass. Talked the guy about a hour. Told me he could build a 8inch that put out more bass than a 15inch. Asked who I was talking with. It was Ted.
