I watch it every time it runs on free-to-air TV.

One of my fave movies; an absolute classic.

Probably seen it 30 times, I'm guessing, and it never gets old.

The scene where Quint recounts the demise of the USS Indianapolis holds “family adjacent” significance and is one of the best scenes in all of cinema. I don’t have confirmation, but I’ve read that most of that scene was improvised. If so, makes it even better. #That’sSomeBadHatHarry

You'll get no argument from me brother.

Epic. Gravitas in spades.

They are about to re-release it in theaters for the 50th Anniversary. My buddy and I want to see it in IMAX.

Closest IMAX to me is almost an hour away. My buddy and I make plans to go see it. He said, "It's running all weekend." and we make a point to go to the late showing. Rather than bug him about the showtime, I Googled it and couldn't find it. He swears up and down that it's showing and we meet up. 40 minutes to get there, because there isn't much traffic through town this late at night. We get to the theater to secure our seats, and can't find the movie on the kiosks. WTF dude? He goes and checks with a human, and comes back embarrassed. It's showing AUGUST 26th to Sepember 6. That was JULY 26th.

Motherfucker bought me dinner. We're going to go see it next month when it's actually showing in IMAX.

Saw this on Nat Geo lately. Really good. Makes the actual movie that much better. What I didn't know is that all of the 'local people' in the movie were actual locals and they all became this big group of friends. Then, they debuted the movie in this home town where the movie was shot. How awesome is that? More obvious was that Richard Dryfuss and Robert Shaw did not get along in real life. That played a huge part in the actual character development as the movie progressed. That and Steven Speilberg felt this movie would ruin his career
