Brass saddles vs stamped steel.

I find that the brass saddles add a certain harmonic richness to the notes as compared to the more present 'body' of the note with the steel.

I did this on 2 guitars and had the same results.

Definitely dig the brass saddles.

Looks cool too.

Solid saddles feel so much better on my hand than stamped steel that I don't care about whatever difference in tone may or may not be there, I'm going with solid saddles if I have a choice.

Also hey, try some shorter height adjustment screws if you can for those new saddles. The long screws can dig into your palm if you set your saddles for particularly low action.

Ah, funnily enough stamped vs solid steel saddles also make a slight tonal difference, though to my ears it is harder to distinguish than the switch to brass.

I haven't had a guitar with stamped saddles for years at this point.

It depends. I like stamped steel on my Strats with vintage style bridge (most of them).

But on one of my Teles I use steel for the E/A and D/G saddles for a little more sting and stringiness. Then brass for the B/E saddle to get a bit less sting and more body.

Getting way better string vibe transfer into the trem base plate now. Almost doesn't even sound like the same guitar.
This guitar has a stock steel trem block too.
Funny how people say the little things do not matter but to someone who is very familiar with an instrument's sound/feel it "Almost doesn't even sound like the same guitar."

As time has shown - everything matters - some just matters a bit more.

I bought those $25 saddles like 2 years for a Strat but they were slightly smaller than spec. So i stashed these and bought the next size up for that guitar.
That guitar is long gone but i knew i had those stashed. Found them yesterday and not only fit but major mojo upgrade.
Nothing ventured nothing gained.
