Hi all,

Anyone using a Thiele 1x12 (C90) with a Mark series Mesa for metal? Better options? Mesa recto 2x12 horizontal?

Hi all,

Anyone using a Thiele 1x12 (C90) with a Mark series Mesa for metal? Better options? Mesa recto 2x12 horizontal?

I am running the amp into a Suhr Reactive Load IR most of the time but maybe it would be nice to have a small cab available as well.

Sounds great. I run a Mark V 25 watt into a C90 loaded thiele. That said, the Recto 2x12 will sound bigger.

I used to have one, theyre a great 1x12 cabinet. The only issue I had was, if youre playing fairly loud thay thing will take heads off, if theyre standing in front of it lol. If I had one now, id probably change the speaker to a cream back 75 or v30 or something a bit softer. I also have a mesa 2x12, I think its a better cabinet for what your wanting, unless youre just wanting a 1x12. Part of my issue is I prefer the sound of 2 speakers. Lol The mesa 2x12 is heavy, they use some thick plywood on it.

I have both EV and C90 Boogie thiele cabinets. Both are great. I was completely impressed with the C90 tone. I bought the cabinet for $150 on CL thinking I would stick an EV in but I like the C90 99% as much as the EV.

I had a Mark V25 and a Thiele like 10 years ago, but I didn't like the Thiele. The low end response was too loose for my taste. I ended up getting a slightly smaller 112 with a V30 that worked out way better for me.

I was running a V:25 into two Thiele cabs and it was heavenly. I should have never sold that rig. The guy who played through it couldn't give me money fast enough after he heard it (felt it... it was very responsive).

I now have a Mark 7 with two Thiele cabs, so I'm happy.

Amazing comments, thanks! How do You think the Thiele compares to 2x12 horizontal Recto cab? I will use it with the new IIC++ reissue so the 60W 1x12 Recto cabs are not an option.
