Pre pro Charvel neck on a schecter/ mighty might body. I got this guitar when I was growing up in west la. I have had it for over 40 years! The body is kind of a tank and the Og pickups were shot somit is a mess right now. I am in the process of having the neck and brass parts put on a KNE body with some new PUPS. Huge thanks to Velcro Fly who is doing the paint and reassemble etc. Stoked to bring this old beast back from the dead.

Here’s a preview of @Jdub ‘s pre-pro project I’ve been working on… KnE body w legit prepro Charvel neck, bench mix tropical turquoise color, most of his hardware (anybody have an OG Schecter brass saddle?) pup and knobs there for mockup. Body hasn’t been polished yet, love the color.

I am so stoked on the resurrection. I got that guitar in trade for a late 70's Gibson the V (sunburst with binding) back in 1985 or 1986 from some hot shot guy named Mark Myles. He was animal on guitar and drums!. But kind of a dick.. That has been through it all with me but have not played it for almost 20 years. That neck is special, but the old body and pups kinda sucked. Thanks a million for all your hard work. I need some PUP recommendations??

Fantastic resto project @Jdub & @* velcro-fly * !
Jdub, what kind of sound(s) are you looking for? Lots of pickup options those days.
Thanks Anje!

I have lots of guitars to cover varied ground so looking for this guitar to be true to its era. the neck was made in late '79 iirc.

Bridge considerations are.
Dimarzio Super Distortion
Duncan Custom 78
Bareknuckles VH2

Open to feedback, opinions and suggestions. Thanks

For the neck something that will balance with whatever I choose for the bridge. HS 3?

Ok, agree; for such special "old" guitar, I also like to be kind of "period correct".
I'd suggest looking into some old original Duncan or DiMarzio from the era; in me experience the early old ones from the 70's / early to mid 80's do sound/feel different from the recent continuation models.

For instance the early serialized green Bengal 1H I posted some photo of earlier in that thread, had a very early SD JB; sounded amazing. I'd start by that if you prefer a more "hot rodded PAF" feel.
If too much, an early SD "59B" is great too.
For another different hot rodded feel, a 70's DiMarzio Super Distortion, early 80's SD Custom or Distortion are also true classics.

For the neck single, DiMarzio HS3 are quite low output compared to those hot rodded PAF bridge Humbuckers from memory. An old DiMarzio Fat Strat would be great, or one of the old SD stacks.
If you go with lower output humbucker closer to classic PAF, you may be fine with more classic sounding single coils.
