Well, I would start by posting in the main forum instead of the OT section. Maybe introduce yourself. Join in on some of the conversations. 50 posts will come quick enough.

"I am not a crook" said by every crook ever.

Give me a fucking break!! Mentioning The Ghey Page won't get you anywhere with the tan pants we wear.

We have the damn rules because we've learned the HARD way. If posting a few replies is a big deal breaker,...... I could go on.

There’s no exceptions for the rules. Classifieds are free but require community involvement to access. Please go to the classifieds section and read the rules. Once everyone gets to know you and you meet the minimum requirements will you be able to message about a purchase. Hopefully it’s still available for sale by then.

He did use the past tense “was”. That means a learning curve could be in play.

@Squally So a few problems with the Gear page are, in my opinion; it’s too big and hard to control the masses of people and ideas so banning and mind control occurs. It’s fine I guess, just not my thing. Lots of clicky folks there. Too many people make it messy with people trying scammy stuff as well- easier to sneak in and scam. The difference between RT and TGP is boutique gathering vs an all out rager party. Point is; most folks here at RT look out for the “wedding crashers”. I’d say you are more than welcome here. It takes a while to become known but as in every relationship, first impressions/introduced-> interactions over time-> part of the crowd. My two sense.

Yeah, there are other avenues to sell gear if people want a quick buy or sell. Even the folks that argue in posts all the time would trust each other enough to buy gear.

The "you've never met me before, and trust me I'm not a scammer, but I'm looking for suggestions about how to cut corners on the messaging requirements" approach isn't a great first impression.

My suggestion would be to contribute to the threads, add some value to the community. The threshold for earning people's trust is generally higher than what it takes to earn the ability to message.

Welcome!

Like Floyd said, 50 posts are most of us in like 6 hrs lol.....just participate and you'll get there in no time.

Here's what you should do. Post what amp you are interested in. Then we will pile on telling you why you should or shouldn't get one. Then we will argue with you about who/what mods you should get. We will make fun of your posts, call you stupid names and generally try to chase you off. You will have 50 posts in no time and whomever is selling the amp you want will wind up selling it to one of us instead of you anyway.

Welcome to rigtalk.

It's possible they have the same gear listed on Reverb. Reach out and ask them via DM? You might not get the same exact price because of Reverb fees and taxes, but it's a more secure transaction for all included.

Thanks for the warm welcome:p
Just was hoping to buy this amp I've been looking for and a Google search led me here.
Can't DM the seller -not allowed to yet.
Read the rules would rather not have to jump through the 50 messages hoops issue just to buy an amp.
I get it you have rules
It's been on here since last year probably because its a local sale only so maybe the guy might be happy that there is a potential buyer that is local to him.
If you want to know about me Here you go:
63 year old plumber playing over 40 years
Have way too much gear including Wizards,Komets,Aiken Matchless,Divided by 13,Marshall,Kelley
Prefer Lp style guitars with a Marshall type amp and a cord and volume -play mostly 70s based bluesy riff rock type of stuff
My name is Paul my teacher/best buddy Mark Hitt started calling me Paquale which morphed into Squally.
Bottomline is I'd like to buy the amp off the guy so if someone would help that would be great and your long time member in good standing may be happy that he sold the amp finally
thank you
