I think the big thing with this is the illegal migrants were counted in the census which contributed to the number of seats each state gets. Blue states having a higher influx of migrants likely ended up with more seats. Or migrants kept the population numbers high enough where they at least didn't lose any seats when they should have.

That part aside it would probably be a good idea to redo the census anyway since it was done during covid lockdowns. That probably had its own hand in messing up the numbers.

We’ve had a lot of it (death). My little brother died of an accidental fentanyl overdose at 40 and my 24 year old niece died of a heroin overdose. Lost more than a couple close friends I considered brothers. So I’m not uptight about it.

Mainly what’s causing the grief is the toll it’s taking on my mom having to take care of him 24/7. And how the future is going to play out with regards to what it’s going to take to take care of him.
