I know a lot of US Americans who know that it was a group effort. They aren't all total morons like Superchamp.
 
I'm well aware of the allies. The French, english, brits, dutch, russians, philipinos, austrailians, chinese, eventually the italians. A group effort that could not have succeeded by any one country, only an allied effort made it possible.
In the end, only 3 disappointments; the Russians erected the iron curtain, the communists took china & kicked the US out, and one guy in Australia who kept chattering "who needed your help?!"
