So Apparently Roger Watered Down Thinks He's above Ozzy

Sorry, I didn't listen. I've seen countless shows in my life and that cunt was the only guy I was completely disgusted by. Too bad he didn't die instead of Ozzy

Interesting thing about this video. Even back then Waters had to have a bass player other than himself on stage playing his parts. Dead fuckin simple bass too. Go to about 1:50 and you can hear the bass line and see Waters hands, which aren’t moving. Bass player is on the right side of the stage.

I like Rogers music. Don't like many songs where Ozzy is singing.
Also Roger can write music. Ozzy can just sing, not write.

So to me it's Roger 1, Ozzy 0 so far.
The only true example of Waters’s music in PF is The Final Cut. Everything else was very Dave infused.

I don't let people's beliefs have any influence on whether I go see them. I went to a Roger Waters show and Rage Against the Machine show and have seen Ted Nugent. I could care less what someone believes in if I'm a fan of their music.
That’s really the best way to look at it. Wish I felt the same way.

But the past 10 years or so has changed everything for me.

A few years ago RW toured the US trying to make money on his past success. During the show I went to he relentlessly insulted my country and my friends religion, constantly flipping the bird to the crowd the whole time. 3/4 of the crowd walked out after like 40m. In BOSTON.

Do I think he should die for this? Of course not, and I didn’t say that. But I don’t need to pretend he’s anything other than an irrelevant toxic POS

I've listened both Rogers and Davids new solo material and Rogers compositions still have that 70s Pink Floyd flavour while David hasn't sounded like Pink Floyd very much composition-wise. So I would hazard a guess that it was Roger who brought that famous feel to the Pink Floyd compositions. Also David himself said in the latest interview that it was Rogers project and it was Roger who was the gatekeeper and editor of all the ideas that went into the songs. I.e. he was the main songwriter.

I don't have any idea what he might have said there so I can't comment on that. But I do know that there are a huge amount of people who get emotionally hurt immediately when faced with any sort of criticism against their ideology. So it could have been just that. But as I said: I wasn't there so I can't validate what was the actual magnitude of the offensive verbal monologue.

Roger Waters is in my top 5 list of people id not want to hang out with. Pink Floyd is still in my top 5 ever :dunno:

Dude, and no offense meant, but I’ve listened to all that too and if you think Waters new solo shit has the “ Pink Floyd feel”, I really don’t need to hear your opinion about Pink Floyd at all. The Final Cut and half of The Wall don’t even have that “ Pink Floyd feel”.

Re: Gilmour, I’m not sure what he said was Waters’ project but it almost has to be The Wall. And that’s pretty well known. Waters is also the only member of Pink Floyd that likes that record.

he said / she said / woulda coulda shoulda ....... who cares ?
The dead have no opinions.

When Gilmour said “That was Roger’s project” he was talking about The Wall itself, not Floyd as a whole.

Rick Wright, Nick Mason, David Gilmour and Roger Waters is what brought that famous feel to Floyd, not any one member.

As for Roger’s recent work sounding more Floyd-like, that’s because that dude relies on guys to deliver the best Floyd playing/sounds they can and is precisely why he’s had Jon Carin as his live musical director for a while now. Carin did the ‘87 and ‘88 Floyd tours and played on Momentary Lapse and The Division Bell, had a falling out with Gilmour in the 00’s and immediately started talking shit about him after Waters hired him, claiming he wrote some songs he wasn’t credited with, then miraculously Gilmour was able to post the demos of the songs Carin claimed were his, recorded before Carin was even involved.

Gilmour hasn’t wanted to do the Floyd thing for decades now. He didn’t even want to play a ton of Floyd songs on his recent tour because he’s been ready to move on from that for years and stated as much before the tour, much to many fans dismay. I’m good either way, Gilmour can play any song and I’ll love it because there is none higher on my Mt Rushmore. He specifically worked with a producer on his newest album who didn’t give a fuck about Floyd to further get away from doing Floyd sounding shit.

Listen to Waters’ demos of Floyd tunes before the band got a hold of them, they’re all basically folk blues tunes-

When he did the demos for The Wall they had a bit more Floyd sound to them, mainly due to him using synths to make the majority of demos, but still, didn’t feel or sound like Floyd until the other dudes showed up and did their thing. Even “Young Lust” was a folk tune before they came along.

And you think Ozzy was a decent human being ?
every one who knew Ozzy personally said yes was was a great human being, even the guys he fucked over to do with Money like Jake and Bob say he was a great guy to be around ... he was an asshole when it came to business, which can largely be put down to his wife/manager
