Still can't get over it. I laugh every time I hear it. Music sales guy standing around chilling in his small shop, not a boutique piece of gear in site, just casually blazing with this white hot jet engine high gain that seems to have no business being there. Just gigantic tone. Killer playing too.

EVH Wolfgang with Wolfgang pups
5153 50w (Gain at 3:00, Res dimed, Pres at 1:00, everything else noon)
EVH 2x12 cab mic'd with one SM57
MXR Stereo Chorus in post
some delay in post
some verb in post

Love vids like this where you don't really expect anything but get your face melted off.

Spoiler Alert

He is plugged into the little black Peavey on his left

Well...... it's obvious that the EVH 50 watt 5153 had to be Jose modded to get those tones............................:hys::hys::hys::hys:

Great tones, I have been keeping my eye out for a 50 watt 5153, they were everywhere when I wasn't the market to buy...........:dunno:

Good contrast between the Mesa Mark and 5150... I actually prefer the 5150 in these clips.

I've noticed EVH 5150s are pretty hard to come by on FB Marketplace (especially the 100 watters) and I'm close to Nashville. I would have assumed they'd be a dime a dozen.

I know sometimes people turn their nose up at them, and yeah there are boutique amps that I prefer for that kind of sound, but as a value proposition, they're seriously hard to beat. Pretty much every single shootout video of a 5150 III 50w vs another amp in that wattage / size / market segment ends in the 5150 50w pretty clearly coming out on top.

Basically, they sound good and they're not all that expensive. Makes sense that they don't last on the market. Also, 5150's and Recto's are kind of a studio staple, even in Nashville, that people don't really talk about even though it's true. They're desirable and there's always somebody who's finding themselves wanting to fill the "max high gain" gap in their tonal options.

That's because the 5150 clip is actually awesome.....that Mrak 5 clip could just have easily been any random cheap high gainer recorded with an iphone

Well that sucks............I hope you get it soon!
Yep but at the same time, I haven't played much lately, kind of lost it, so I can wait for it. By curiosity I almost bought the Eventide Micropitch pedal but decided to wait as in Canada it's almost the double of the price of the PS-6
