Back in like 91 or so .... when all the Hair Bands were clutching and trying to hold on to MTV .... I needed a change .... and it wasn't Grunge ....
not for me anyway ... I liked STP , Soungarden and Alice n Chains that was about it .... couldn't friggin stand Curt Cobain and Nirvana .
Metallica just released the Black Album and ruined my view on what I thought was Thrash / Metal at the time ...
Vulgar Display had just come out too giving me some hope ...... but Phil just ruins them for me ... not his singing .... all the other shit
around the same time my buddy was always reciting the " Sailing the Seas of Cheese " poem in Les's voice ....
it made me laugh every time ....... till after like a month of it .... I finally said WTF is all this Sailing the Seas of Cheese nonsense
so he let me borrow his Sailing the Seas of Cheese CD ........ and that was fucking it ..... I never looked back ... became a HUGE fan .... they were such incredible musicians with an obvious sense of humor ...... what a breath of FRESH MUSICAL air they were for me ....
I've seen Primus and Les's other projects ( Frog Brigade etc ) more than any other band live .... and I've seen some shows
