After years of reading about it, I finally got a R. Weaver Midnight Vibe

Started an Instagram account, found Rick, was easy as it gets, and the man was FAST!
So, as I expected, it had the sound of the best clones and more importunately, the original Univibe, of which I owned 3.
It has what I call the "Electric Church" sound. What that means is (to me) you get lost in the sounds. Just letting a chord hang, while the Vibe does it's thing is haunting, for lack of a better word.
Anyway, really well built, sounds amazing, highly recommended.

Very nice score Carl. There has been an explosion of vibes since the 90's when I was into the Hendrix stuff. I had the Dunlop unit with the foot control. TBH it was on the level of some of the better vibes I've heard since that time. The more guys I saw using vibes and wah wahs the less I wanted to use them tho, lol.

I hear you!!! I feel the same way. Seems everybody can play and get the sounds that I struggled for decades with.
I can barely work a wah anymore (neuropathy) but I still love my Vibes!

A good vibe can do some cool stuff. I used to love to set that Dunlop speed and depth on low and it would give a cool lightly phased gloss to chords and rhythm playing. I did score a spaceman meridian a little while back, mostly for doing very slight doubling tones, but it can do a whole range of stuff from flange/phase and vibe type tones to chorus and vibrato. Lots of sounds in that box but it was pretty pricey. After getting a couple Griffin Analog boxes plus the Meridian my guitar gear fund is about tapped out for the year save for some fretwork one of my axes needs.

Nice, they sound great. I have the same but it's got a slightly different setup for the chorus.
Great vibe!
