The right ABSOLUTELY tried to characterize the kid as anything other than one of them. Whether the shooter was right or left, the right absolutely did that.

The next part about how Trump handled it was also absolutely true. All they did was replay Trump's own words back.

the FCC commissioner said "We should probably look into it" regarding the regulations (which you could very easily make a case it violates) on the benny johnson podcast after sinclair and all of the affiliates dropped kimmel

Kimmel was dropped by the affiliates after call-ins and complaints by local TV customers, and Bob Iger heard the FCC guy say he would look into it and got spooked, because he knew damn well it could very easily be interpreted as a violation, and when Jimmy not only refused to apologize but doubled down, THEN jimmy was done
