Please direct me to a good (or great) free amp sim!

My tube amps are down, and now POD Farm Platinum is acting up.

I want to slap new pickups into my guitar and need to test them after I do the installation. PLEASE HELP A BROTHER OUT! THANKS!

PolyChromeDSP McRocklin Suite has a free trial; it's often on sale for under $100.

It's so good it convinced me to build a computer guitar rig which I use more than all my other gear, combined. I've sold my FM9 MkII Turbo, and my Helix Floor is for sale.

They came out with a few more plugins, and I have one called Nunchuck which is based on JCM800 (stock and modded); another is for high gain, and another for vintage cleans (Fender-ish)

Worth a look. IMO.

I also have several Neural DSP plugins I think are great, Helix Native, Blue Cat Audio Axiom, and Softube Marshall amp room (sounds good, but takes too much work IMO)

All have free trials.

@JohnnyGtar another option, but not free, is get a ToneX one pedal. You'll have access to over 50k free captures, the unit is small and works on its own if you want to jam away from a computer. It also can be a guitar audio interface to record with your fav daw.

Not free but very affordable is stl tones…. I think that’s what it’s called. I used it for awhile and liked it better than any of the other ones I tried. I do want to grab a tonex pedal though….
