Marshall JVM1H issues - Volume goes to zero suddenly and recovers with power off/on

Hi,

My Marshall 50th anniv 1W Marshall JVM is acting strangely; sometimes the volume goes to zero slowly and won’t recover until power off/on. Then sometimes the volume drops a lot, not going to zero, and all the distortion disappears. Anything I can check myself to diagnose the issue further?

Sounds like possibly a bad power tube .After I got my 2203 from Blake it started doing that . The powertubes got loose in shipping . Once I push them in tighter it stopped

I use it primarily for 80s rock tones with low gain level set on distortion channel and boosting it with some nice pedal. I have grown to love the DOD YJM308 in front of the amp if playing with my Malmsteen Stratocaster. If I want to play tighter and gainier stuff with other guitars then I use BB pre/Klon KTR/SD-1/TS808HW most of the time. It is such a nice practise amp and I presume the preamp circuit is exactly the same as in the bigger power versions of the JVM.

The DOD is incredible especially paired with the YJM Strat! Instant Yngwie tones.

If I remember correctly it has this emulated line out that I never use. It has an FX loop so easy to use it as a preamp from fx loop send.

Def that’s how to do it . I didn’t know it came with a loop

Did not have any spare ECC82s so I ordered two TAD 12AU7As for V1 (power) and V3 (tone stack, fx loop and cathode follower buffers). Should be here tomorrow.
