Kidnap

Its called deportation. I personally don't want ICE agents to be recognized by people that are here illegally. ICE people are in this country legally trying to do a job that has been asked of them. A dangerous job. Why do we need to see their face? I don't understand what the big deal is. I suppose it is ok for the thieves to wear masks in broad day light while they gang rob a Footlocker or mom and pop jewelry shop?

What do you call it when they're citizens?

It’s problematic for law enforcement officials to wear masks—especially during public duties—for several key reasons related to **accountability, trust, and the rule of law**:

1. **Lack of accountability:**
When police officers conceal their faces, it becomes difficult or impossible for the public or oversight bodies to identify who is responsible for specific actions. This can lead to abuse of power, since officers may feel insulated from personal consequences.

2. **Erosion of public trust:**
Policing relies on legitimacy in the eyes of the community. A masked, anonymous police force appears secretive or authoritarian, which can make citizens fearful and less cooperative, undermining community policing and respect for law enforcement.

3. **Violation of democratic norms:**
In democratic societies, state power—especially the power to use force—must be transparent and accountable. Masked officers evoke images of secret police or paramilitary forces more common in authoritarian regimes.

4. **Obstruction of legal processes:**
If an officer’s identity is concealed, victims, witnesses, or defense attorneys may struggle to file complaints or pursue justice in cases of misconduct or excessive force.

5. **Psychological and symbolic effects:**
Masks can dehumanize both the officers and the public. They can make police seem like faceless enforcers rather than community protectors, heightening tensions and fear in already volatile situations.

6. **Potential violation of policy or law:**
In many jurisdictions, police are legally required to display identifying information such as badge numbers and name tags. Covering the face can conflict with these requirements.

There are **limited exceptions**, such as undercover work, riot control (for protection from projectiles or gas), or pandemic-related health measures. But outside those contexts, mask-wearing by law enforcement is generally viewed as **a red flag for opacity and abuse of authority**.

1. They are here illegally, so they don't have the same rights.

5. And?
6. They are here illegally, so they don't have the same rights, and they are not regular police officers protecting the community under these defund the police talking points :dunno:

When someone is killed by police here, it's such a rare occurrence that it makes national news. We have an average of 1 police killing per year.
In the USA, you have over 1000 per year. Your police murder citizens with impunity.
So JD doesn't even live in the USA? What the fucking hell does he/she even give a fuck what is going on here? What a waste of time.

What piece of shit leftist drivel website did you pluck this gem from ?

“It’s very easy for somebody to just play dress up and go out acting like these agents,” said Mike German, a former FBI agent. “And because these agents have been so aggressive in public without identifying themselves, it creates fear and that fear is an opportunity for a criminal.”

There have been over 25 instances of ICE impersonation this year by masked criminals claiming to be ICE, including kidnapping, assault, robbery and rape.

All that same stuff happened during occupy wall street movement.
Remember when criminals were committing crimes with covid masks on?
Criminals don't follow laws. That's what makes them criminals.
Don't know why liberals always think that taking rights away rom law abiding citizens will somehow affect the criminals. It never has and never will. It's flawed logic like defund the police
