Some of it, was a test by a friend of mine who was building guitars. Personally, I don't think you can go wrong with any of Yamaha's offerings.

ZEEGLER Well-known member Today at 7:57 AM #29 In my experience, I can't think of another guitar manufacturer that gives you so much guitar for the money as Yamaha. This is my AES420. It's basically their entry level AES model, but still has a set neck, lovely rosewood board, flawless metallic paint job. And my 1990 Weddington Classic.
