Jason did it better . He just took it to a whole level . Yngwie was first but playing wise and complication wise it’s a notch up
Don’t kill me lol
Don’t kill me lol
And there it is, again! lolApples to oranges man.
And nobody did that thing “better” than early Yngwie.
and again.I still think Yngwie's early work is some of the most perfect guitar work ever done.
His tone, his songwriting, stage presence, vibrato, bends, picking technique... everything he did in his early work was flawless.
Ummmm in 1988 to get that lead toneJason Becker may have done it slightly better, but Yngwie's tone is actually good.
i was actually disappointed . He was held back a lot . I enjoy showtime and title track a lot thoughHis work on A Little Ain't Enough is his best work IMO.
I’m not saying he’s better . He just took his ideas to a whole nother level . Like Air . The counterpoint is on level unlike anything of saw yngwie do . And ya did take too much from yngwie I do agreeI still think Yngwie's early work is some of the most perfect guitar work ever done.

Not to take away the credit that Becker deserves at all. Becker was an insane guitar player, and only God knows how much he could've got ever better if he had the chance.
Plus, as much as Becker was clearly influenced by Yngwie, he also had a lot of Marty Friedman's influence, which is not surprising, due to the amount of work they've done together.
Too many greats from that era, and each one with their own merits.
It was the DLR influence. He had to put the shredding aside and do what the song needed, and he did an awesome job.i was actually disappointed . He was held back a lot . I enjoy showtime and title track a lot though
You mean like this.My theory is - when you get to THAT hyper level of technical mastery, no one is "better" than anyone else.
You mean like this.
Idk . I feel like this album took YngwiesYngwies early work was and still is untouchable for that style. Nothing has ever came close. IMO. everything else including most later Yngwie sounds like drivelous wankery in comparison
jason at his peak was pretty shocking. like yngwie bordering on shawn lane.
this was a free marty/jason clinic i recorded on my handheld lecture recorder in 88 at a club in fullerton called goodies which was a two block walk from my apt.
they had just received ADA MP-1s the day before and were playing hurricane gtrs. marty started off the solo back and forth duel and imo jason fully sunk marty’s battleship
watching jb that day, i definitely got that same otherworldly vibe i experienced seeing early yngwie, holdsworth, lane, gambale, and guthrie go off live in person for the first time.
my wife sent me this clip—guy’s pretty nuts too!
